Alongside our slot at the Lamb on Saturday, we're making a (hopefully) triumphant return to Midsomer Norton the following week.

Good old Norton eh? Home of many a character, some of whom can actually speak English, and once home to a thriving music scene thanks to pubs like the Wunderbar and the Stones Cross. Sadly, those legendary places have since closed down.

The heavy click of their doors being locked for the final time reverberated through the empty Norton streets. Afterwards, if you walked through the town hoping to find anything resembling the old music scene, you'd instead see old and faded set lists blowing in the breeze, used plectrums nestled in the silt and frayed drum sticks resting in the sediment. Instead of hearing feedback or hecklers, it would now be quiet enough to hear the steady whine of your own tinnitus, ravaged by too many nights with ourselves and others who smashed Norton stages to bits, like Hacksaw, Goatorcycle, and The Get-Outs.

So now, The Riverside have decided it's time for us to remind the good people of Mid Nort what those nights were like, and those days of the Mardi Gras, and to bring our noise back to a place that did so much to encourage it in the first place. We are only too happy to oblige.
