This is an opportunity to combine hands-on employability support in real workplace settings with supporting teaching and learning in the classroom, helping young people with SEND take meaningful steps towards employment, greater independence and fulfilling adult lives.

Whether supporting learners in the classroom, coaching them in the workplace or networking with employers to create opportunities, you will play a vital role in helping young people develop valuable skills and progress towards their future careers.

At the heart of this role is a commitment to inclusion and high aspirations. You will support learners to:
• Navigate workplace expectations 💼
• Recognise and build on their strengths 💪
• Develop confidence, independence and resilience 💪
• Gain real-world employability skills 🗣️
• Explore career pathways and take life-changing steps towards employment ↗️

You will join a supportive, collaborative and ambitious team, united by a shared belief in the potential of every young person. At Finding Futures, staff work together to challenge barriers, celebrate progress and enable learners to achieve amazing outcomes.

We’re looking for a Café Assistant to join our fantastic team at Longfellow’s Café at Fosse Way School. This is a unique opportunity to work in a vibrant special school environment, supporting both staff and students while helping young people develop valuable life skills.

✨ About the role:
16 hours per week, term time only
Working across Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday
Preparing and serving food and drinks
Supporting students with training and real-life work skills
Helping create a welcoming café environment

We’re looking for someone who is:
✅ Friendly, reliable and hardworking
✅ Great with people and able to provide excellent customer service
✅ Able to work in a busy environment
✅ Passionate about making a positive difference

No previous café experience? Don’t worry — full training will be provided.
