Thank you so much to everyone who came to see us, we hope you enjoyed your time 🙂

It’s always so lovely to see a pub come back to life after a period of closure, and we genuinely appreciate you choosing to spend your time (and money) with us.

Big thanks to Chris and the team at the Oak and Shirley and The Manvers team for being so welcoming (and helpful in lending us b**r when we ran out!) - it’s fantastic to be part of a supportive hospitality community.

We’re back today from 3pm - the cask is tasting great, and the snacks are fully stocked!

Doors at 3pm, and we can’t wait to welcome you in.

Bear with us, still a bit of finishing to do and the team are all (mostly!) brand new.

Absolutely smitten with this beautiful pub and her amazing cosy corners.

8 days til we get these doors open again….

Plenty to do - stock the bars, polish the glasses, finish hiring the team, lick of paint here and there and add a few little touches.

Time for a little FAQ, I’m sure you’re curious!

Q. WILL YOU BE SERVING FOOD?
A. Some lovely bar snacks at first, whilst we suss things out. We’d love to get the kitchen back up and running - I’m sure there’s plenty of people out there that would love to see a great roast back at The Chestnut?

Q. ARE YOU DOG FRIENDLY?
A. Absolutely, blooming love a doggo! Treats are on us :-)

Q. DO YOU ALLOW KIDS IN THE PUB?
A. Yes of course, up until 8pm kids are more than welcome - obviously with adult supervision. We’ve got a great selection of games to help entertain them.

Q. IS THE QUIZ COMING BACK?
A. Watch this space, the quiz and other events will hit our socials soon enough!

Q. What b**rs will be on?
A. We’ll announce the opening line up soon. A couple of tweaks to the keg range, and an ever rotating cask ale selection - you’ll always see a cracking pale and bitter and we’re committed to having 5 lines on all the time (except when they need a quick clean!)

Q. WILL THERE BE ANY OFFERS?

We're hiring at The Chestnut
The Chestnut in Radcliffe-on-Trent is reopening on Thursday 3rd September, and we're putting together a team to bring this well-loved local back to life.

We're part of Wonderkid Hospitality, the passionate pub people behind Fellows Morton & Clayton in Nottingham and The Heart at Ruddington, and we're looking for warm, friendly people who care about great hospitality as much as we do. We're all about a warm welcome, great b**r, and creating a fantastic atmosphere for our guests.

We're recruiting for:
Shift Manager, up to ÂŁ13.81 per hour, 30 to 40 hours per week Supervisor, ÂŁ13.10 per hour, 20 to 30 hours per week
Bar Staff, ÂŁ12.80 per hour, 10 to 20 hours per week

Whether you're an experienced manager, a supervisor looking for your next step, or just starting out behind the bar, we'd love to hear from you. Full training is provided, and all our team enjoy a 33% staff discount across our other great pubs.

Opening hours will be Monday to Thursday, 3pm to 11pm, and Friday to Sunday, 12pm to 11pm.

The Chestnut is coming back, better than ever.

Radcliffe-on-Trent’s finest village boozer is reopening its doors on Thursday 3rd September, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome you back in.

We know how much this pub means to this village, and we’re not here to change what makes it special.

We’re here to bring it back to life with the things that matter most: good b**r, good times, and good people.

Here’s what’s waiting for you:
A proper warm, welcoming atmosphere
5 cask lines on, always
A revamped w**e range and a short but excellent cocktail list
Quality bar snacks, and a fantastic playlist
Great hospitality, great events, and a team that genuinely loves this trade

It’s such a pretty pub that not a huge amount will look different at first glance, but as the weeks progress a few of our touches will make it even better.

Clint & Jamie are the team behind Fellows Morton & Clayton in Nottingham and The Heart at Ruddington, and we’re bringing that same care and craft straight to the heart of Radcliffe-on-Trent. A familiar face will be running the pub day to day and taking care of you all, and we’re on the lookout for a few excellent people to join the team, drop us a DM if you’re our kind of person (Over 18s only, sorry! Must be able to serve alcohol unsupervised).
