The Royal Oak The Best of British - a good old-fashioned pub!

Situated at the heart of Radcliffe on Trent, we are a traditional community pub, with a great range of drinks and something always going on! We don't serve food but we host many local artisan food vendors or welcome people to bring in food from one of the brilliant places in the village.

😢 Im not crying......its allergies!

Last night we said Goodbye, for now, to Harriet & Bibi. 😭

These two joined the Oak team two years ago, and over those two years they've made us all cry, laugh and shake our heads more times than normal 😂

But as they fly the nest and go onto uni and a coaching programme, I literally couldn't be prouder of them.

We'll miss ya ❤️

A little plea from us.....

Tomorrow is our Street Food Festival and, frankly, the weather is looking a bit iffy (see ominous cloud above Chris' head 🙄😂
BUT, we would still love to see you there!

These events take a huge amount of organising behind the scenes. A lot of time, effort, cost (and a fair bit of stress 😂 i.e Chris's hairline) into trying to create something really great for Radcliffe.

But the reality is, we need people to come. If the visitor numbers aren’t there, it becomes really difficult for us to keep putting events like this on and for us to convince brilliant traders to keep coming back. So if you’re wondering what to do tomorrow… now you know 😉😘

🎪We have a large covered seating area to keep you dry IF it does rain. Even if you just pop down for an hour, grab something to eat and have a pint, it makes a massive difference — not just to us, but to all the independent traders who are coming along too. We've got a wet weather plan for our Silent Disco's as well (Families 4-7pm / Adults 8pm) because as fun as it sounds, no one wants to dance in the rain lol. 🕺🕺

So hopefully we'll see you tomorrow & we'll finish the summer in style ❤️.

We're on the countdown to our September Street Food Festival which is THIS Saturday! 🙀

Along with our amazing Foodies (we'll do a reveal on Wednesday) we've got some amazing entertainment lined up from live singers and bands to famous outdoor Silent Disco. 🎵

❗️This year though we'll be hosting a families disco 4-7pm so our littler festival goers get to experience the joy of dancing like no ones watching too❗️

Then from 8pm we go adult only with some good old 80s/90s bangers as the sun sets across the village 😎

What a day! Keeping a really wholesome tradition alive and boy does the village turn out! ❤️

There was so many great examples from all different catagories.

Chris was over the moon to take first place for his floral arrangement (hes always gotta be extra😁) along side some veg grown on the bank allotment at the pub! 🍅

Days like these remind us what a special place the village is and that we should cherish it. 🥰 Thanks to the Parish Council for organising.

As we value consistancy in our team but some of our younger ones are off to Uni! So we're on the hunt for some new people to join The Oak. 🥳

We're looking for a couple of people and whilst experience isnt necessery, a great attitude is! We do alot of weird & wonderful things so a willingness to get involved in making our village a better place is a must as well as ensuring we run a great pub.

🍺Position One: Part Time leading to Full Time. Must be over 18 and not suitable for Students or those with other jobs.

🍺Position Two: Part Time (Mostly weekends & some evenings) Must be over 18 but would suit Student or 2nd Job.

Quiz Night is one of our favourite days of the week.❤️

We love the community it's built, regular teams who haven't missed a week in over 3 years to the new teams, just finding out how we're a little different to a traditional pub quiz 😂

This was Matts idea of being helpful, whilst I sorted this mornings harvest. As you can tell we are very mature adults 😂😂

Another full table of home grown produce, right from our secret garden allotment. Some lovely bags of mixed tomatoes, green beans, beetroot and spicy chillis 🌶

❗️It's STREET FOOD FESTIVAL time❗️

It's gunna be a day of gluttony as we bring some of the best Street Food traders from across the Midlands, right to your door step! 🤤🤤

With Live Music, Kids Entertainment, Face Painting, Craft Beer Bar, Cocktail Bar and hopefully some more of that beautiful beautiful sunshine ☀️

Open 12 till 7pm BUT the party festivities don't stop there as we roll right into our Silent Disco at 8pm. 🕺
