It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our much-loved customer and friend, Whikey.
Our deepest condolences go out to all of Whikey’s family and friends at this incredibly difficult time 😔
He was one of those people who seemed to know everyone, and everyone seemed to know and love him. From Leeds to Bradford, he made an impression on so many people, and we know there will be a lot of people hurting and a lot of stories being shared about him over the next few days.
We would like to invite anyone who wishes to join us today at 2:30pm for a 2-minute silence, around the time Whikey would usually be walking into The Tavern.
Afterwards, we’ll raise a glass together in his memory. 🍻
Nothing too major — anyone who knew Whikey will know he didn’t like a fuss. We simply want to take a moment to remember him, celebrate his life, and say goodbye in our own little way.
Rest easy, Whikey. You’ll be missed by many. 🖤
