Hi everyone!
We’ve put together photos of our chip portion sizes along with their prices so everyone can clearly see what they will receive when ordering. We hope this helps you choose the portion that’s right for you before you visit.
As a small independant # business, we put a lot of care into what we do. Our portion sizes are exactly as shown in the photos, and staff should serve them consistently every day.
We kindly ask that if the portion you choose isn’t what you expected, please speak to us directly in the shop. We’re always happy to help and sort things out on the spot.
What we can’t continue to manage is people purchasing the smallest portions then going online afterward to complain that it wasn’t enough. This creates unnecessary negativity and really impacts small businesses like ours.
Thank you to everyone who supports us, understands the challenges of running an independent shop, and keeps choosing local. ❤️

Hi everyone,
We understand not every meal suits everyone’s personal preferences, but we’ve been completely transparent about what we serve and what it costs — we recently shared photos and information so customers know exactly what they’ll receive. Again- if you want more buy a larger portion size and pay the extra.
We also notice it’s often the same people commenting negatively on every post. If our food or prices aren’t for you, that’s absolutely fine there are plenty of other options locally. We’d rather focus on serving the customers who enjoy what we do.
That said, if anyone has a genuine concern, you’re welcome to message us directly and we’ll address it properly.

🐟 Part-Time Chip Shop Assistant – Trusted & Detail-Oriented

Pay: £12.20 per hour
Hours: Approx. 12 hours/week just to start (more to come)

🔹 About the Role:
We’re a well-established, locally owned fish & chip shop known for high standards, cleanliness, and consistency. We are currently seeking a reliable, experienced, and mature staff member to join our team in a part-time position, with the potential to take on more hours as we head into a busier period and some staff due to go off for a short period.
This is not just a counter job – our shop operates on precise routines and attention to detail. You’ll need to be confident working alone at times, able to follow set procedures, and comfortable with responsibility.

🔍 Responsibilities:
Customer service: taking orders with professionalism and friendliness
Following shop routines (cleaning, prep, stock checks, etc.)
Maintaining a clean, organised workspace at all times
Handling cash payments accurately (adding up, subtracting)
Locking up and securing the shop at end of shift (after training)
✅ Requirements:
Aged 25+ (due to shift responsibility and experience required)
Must be trustworthy, dependable, and self-motivated
Available to work Saturdays and evening shifts (non-negotiable)
Good physical stamina – this is a fast-paced, on-your-feet role
Flexible schedule – more hours will be available soon
Ideally suited to someone without major external responsibilities (e.g. childcare), due to the shift pattern
Attention to detail is key – our workplace is structured and standards-driven

We’ve made the decision to close the shop tomorow due to the ongoing heatwave, staff shortages, and it being extremely quiet. Unfortunately, it’s just not affordable to open under these circumstances.
