Pearl, you were clearly loved by so many. ❤️

The wonderful turnout for your funeral today, on such a beautiful sunny day, was a true reflection of the life you lived and the people whose hearts you touched.

I hope everyone raised a little dram of whisky in your honour – it was obviously one of your favourites. 🥃

The memory boards were absolutely beautiful and told the story of a life well lived, full of love, family and precious memories.

Thank you for choosing The Lovely Cow Shed to provide the food for your family and friends. It was an honour to be part of such a special celebration of Pearl’s life, and we hope everyone enjoyed the buffet.

Not every hen party has to involve matching T-shirts, a night out and a sore head the next morning! 😂

Yesterday we welcomed the loveliest family hen party to The Granary. Sometimes the bride-to-be just wants to spend quality time with her mum, aunties and granny, and that’s exactly what this afternoon was all about.

Laura guided everyone through making these gorgeous wire hot air balloons (I think they all did a brilliant job! 🎈), before they tucked into a delicious afternoon tea. The rest of the afternoon was spent chatting, laughing and playing their own games.

A perfectly relaxed afternoon filled with family, memories and lots of smiles. ❤️

Wow… that was super quick! 😍

We are officially SOLD OUT for our 11thSeptember Spanish Wine Tasting with Ben Fullalove from Fullaloves Wine Bar.

I knew after our last wine tasting that this one would be popular, but I honestly didn’t expect it to sell out this quickly. It’s made my heart so full. ❤️

📚 BOOK CLUB NIGHT!

Well… The Secret Diary of Adrian Mole Aged 13¾ certainly divided opinion! 😂

I think it’s fair to say our scores were 2.5–3 out of 5, with the room split almost 50/50 between those who loved it and those who really didn’t!

Those of us over 50 found ourselves laughing all over again. Maybe not because the book was a literary masterpiece, but because it took us straight back to our teenage years. It sparked so many memories and one thing almost all of us admitted…

✍️ We kept diaries!

Which led to a great conversation about how teenagers today probably don’t keep secret diaries anymore… they just put everything on social media for the whole world to see! 😳😂

One of the funniest moments of the evening was Leisa reminding us about poor Bert’s false teeth… the ones the dog had been happily chewing before he simply popped them straight back in! 🤢🤣

When asked if Adrian himself would fit in at our book club the answer was a definite…

No!

Bless him, he’s just not our sort! 😂

Pandora, on the other hand… she had a bit more oomph, so we’d happily pull up a chair for her!

As always, the food disappeared almost as quickly as the conversation. Summer salad, lasagne, garlic bread and strawberries with ice cream, cream and meringue… safe to say nobody went home hungry! ❤️

The one-word challenge summed the evening up perfectly. We had everything from “Hilarious”, “Funny” and “Reminiscent” to… “Sh*te!” 🤣

And that’s exactly what book club is all about. You don’t have to love the same books, but you do leave having had a great night.
