Just-Ice-Poynton Just-Ice is a charity ice cream café in the leafy Cheshire village of Poynton. We support survivors of modern slavery and human trafficking.

We are a group of like-minded, fun-loving friends who are combining our skills in business, catering, teaching and pastoral care to use the joy of ice cream for the joy of freedom. We believe in, and are working for, a fairer world. Our vision is to create a community hub in

the centre of Poynton where all are welcome and can have fun, business is conducted fairly, friendships can be established and developed and those who were previously living under the control of others can find freedom. Only Fairtrade vanilla, chocolate and sugar is good enough for us and we only use natural, delicious ingredients in our ice creams and sorbets. We bank with the socially aware Co-op Bank and are working for a carbon neutral footprint to ensure we are trading as ethically and fairly as possible. We work hard to source our supplies and equipment from other social enterprises wherever we can to make doing business as fair as possible. And we have a whole lot of fun! We love to chat and always want you to tell us what you love and what we could do better. We believe that no one should be forced into slavery. We intend to be a voice for the voiceless, create community and friendship through providing employment, training and stability for survivors of modern slavery with a view to helping them become independent and meet their own needs. We are a not-for-profit social enterprise and registered charity number 1191728

We'd like to give a big thank you to Poynton Round Table for the generous grant they've awarded Just-Ice! 💜

Poynton Round Table does fantastic work raising money for local causes in our community and has been a consistent supporter of Just-Ice for the past 2 years! 🫶

This generous grant means so much to Just-Ice and more importantly to the survivors of modern survivors we're supporting on our employability programme 'The Turning Point'. The funds will go directly to these people, helping them to rebuild their lives, gain qualifications, and move towards independent employment. 🍦

Poynton and District Round Table is a community organisation made up of local men aged 18-45 who fundraise, socialise, and give back to the area they call home.

🍦 Behind the scenes at Just-Ice! 🍦

Our kitchen is a huge part of what Just-Ice is all about! 💜

It's where survivors of modern slavery and other vulnerable people can learn new skills. We have a fantastic team of staff and volunteer bakers who teach our beneficiaries how to bake and other culinary skills. They can use the qualifications they gain and what they learn to pursue future employment in the food industry.

Our bakes and soups are all homemade and we always use Fairtrade ingredients where possible. We also only use local in season ingredients to ensure there's no slavery in our supply chains and reduce our carbon footprint. 💚
