Ashby's Accommodation Situated 2 minutes from Southsea Seafront and close to local shops, bars and restaurants. We have 16 beautiful ensuite rooms and a private SPA

Set within a former boutique hotel, this whole space is not only well-placed for visiting local tourist sites within Southsea, but enjoys access to the kind of facilities you would normally expect from a top hotel stay. These include: indoor sauna and steam room. Outdoor wood burning sauna. Two outdoor hot tubs that you can book exclusively. Inside we have lots of activities and fun things to do all free: pool table, air hockey, bar area and table tennis. What’s more, there’s a large kitchen with lots of space and facilities to prepare and tuck into food. There are also 16 different en-suite bedrooms on site, opening up multiple accommodation options, depending on the size of your group. Each room has its own TV and free wi-fi access too. In the entertainment area we have a modern hi tech Bose music system, bar area complete with ice maker / beer / wine fridges / .

As a family-run business, we love being part of our local community’s big moments.

During the summer heatwave, Adam and his heavily pregnant partner stayed with us to escape the heat. We were just glad our aircon helped, but we’re over the moon to hear that baby Francesca arrived happy and healthy on July 7th! 😍

Her dad popped in today to show us a photo of our very first "Ashby’s baby"—and she is an absolute beauty!The story gets even sweeter—Adam’s brother came along too to check out our spaces for his stay ahead of his wedding night at Southsea Castle! 🏰

💙 Thinking of our local Portsmouth RNLI and to all those who serve our country and community as first responders, emergency services, Armed Forces, NHS and care services

⚓️Here at Ashbys, we were saddened to hear that the Portsmouth RNLI station at Eastney has had to temporarily pause its operations. We don't get involved in politics — this isn't a political statement, it’s simply about showing appreciation for those that look after the safety of our local community and those at sea too.

The RNLI is our fourth emergency service, its volunteer crews have a purely humanitarian purpose: to rescue any person facing the threat of drowning, regardless of who they are.

Being a proud seafaring city, our waters are home to everyone from elite SailGP and America's Cup crews to local fishermen and pleasure boaters, swimmers and people enjoying the sea.

Many of our favourite guests live their lives at sea and rely heavily on the peace of mind the RNLI provides. We also know the personal dedication it takes firsthand through those who have served, like our Mums neighbour Lewis.

The Portsmouth station is historically one of the busiest in the UK—In 2019 it helped over 38,000 people and directly saved some 374 lives.

To show our gratitude for the people who keep us safe, Ashbys is introducing Discounted Rates for first responders. We have reached out to join the Blue Light Card scheme to offer these discounts to all active and retired members of the:🚑 Emergency Services & NHS🪖 Armed Forces🍎 Teaching Community & Social Care

✨ Ashbys is Going Green! 🌿

Big news from Southsea! Ashbys is officially starting our journey toward a fully sustainable, zero-carbon future. 🌍✨

Sustainability is a core value we hold deeply. This planned major green upgrade is the next logical step as we double down on the eco-friendly LED lighting and water reduction and recycling measures we have already introduced across the hotel.

We are currently budgeting and structuring our biggest transformation yet: we hope to install high-efficiency solar panels, advanced battery storage, and clean air-source heat pumps to permanently move away from carbon and gas and use and generate clean energy. Well that’s the goal and plan. 😊🌞⚡️💦🔌💡♻️

🏛️ Respecting Our Heritage

Because we are located within the historic Thomas Ellis Owen Conservation Area, we have some unique planning hurdles to cross with Portsmouth City Council. We will share the project and how it progresses online. We want to reassure our community that we are prioritising aesthetics, opting for ultra-low-profile, all-black materials that blend seamlessly into our historic roofline to protect Southsea’s iconic architecture. We will keep you posted on how this goes and what’s advised.

💙 Remembering "Mr Portsmouth" — Alan Knight MBE 💙

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Alan Knight. He was a true football legend with 801 appearances for Pompey, but more importantly, he was a great man who did an immense amount of good for our community and the City of Portsmouth.

Like many across the city everone felt they knew Alan personally. An ever present and with genuine time for everyone. We will always value the moments he gave us from sharing stories about his time staying at Ashbys during those famous Alan Ball days when the team frequented the guest house. What ever the cause, or occasion. He was always incredibly generous with his time, always warm, and treated everyone he met with equal respect.

Our sincere condolences go out to his wife Judy and all of his family during this difficult time.

Thank you, Alan, for your incredible service to the club, the community, and for the memories.

Rest in peace, Legend. 🕊️💙

What an absolute pleasure hosting the team from Adrian Flux Insurance Services—the UK's largest specialist motor insurance broker—after their epic day out at the iconic Goodwood Motor Circuit yesterday! 🏎️💨

It sounds like it was an awesome Monday. They spent the morning taking a rugged Land Rover Series 2 off-roading around the Goodwood estate, before tearing up the tarmac in a Mercedes-AMG GTR and an Alpine A110 R in the afternoon. 😍
We are thrilled they chose Ashby’s as their pitstop to unwind and relax after all that action. A huge thank you to Adrian Flux and Fluential for booking with us! 🛌🙌

A massive thank you to the incredible organisers at Victorious Festival for booking Ashbys. It was an absolute pleasure to host your influencers over the Bank Holiday weekend for the Festival on Southsea Common!

A bit of classic British wind and rain certainly didn't dampen the spirits. If anything, the unpredictable weather provided a brilliant, moody backdrop for some truly unforgettable coastal sets over the weekend! 🌊☁️

From Richard Ashcroft and Faithless bringing the energy on Friday, to Nile Rodgers & CHIC and The Black Keys rocking the Common Stage on Saturday, right through to The Enemy, Kasabian and The Streets closing things out on Sunday—it was a weekend for the books. 🎶🙌
