Yellow Kite is a catering and event company with a heart, operating as a social enterprise and based at Southsea Castle. Our mission is to improve the health of the people of Portsmouth, and we do this by encouraging the sale of good, healthy food in our own cafes and those that we support through the Yellow Kite network. 4 May 2011 and caters for all weddings, functions and events at the castle. 2013 will be our third season at the castle and we remain commited to good food that doesnt cost the earth! At the castle we have installed an all weather marquee which is available to hire for weddings and big events, we also have a private dining room and our contemporary cafe rooms are available to hire if you don't quite need a whole castle. Harry's Bar will be open from April every Friday evening hosting the castle Champagne Bar, with a hey Mr DJ putting some music on and chef cooking up some scrummy supper dishes. This stunning heritage location overlooking the Solent must be top of your list for: weddings, meetings, celebrations, seminars and birthday bashes. THE SOCIAL BIT...Yellow Kite developed a range of support packages available to all community cafes in the city and has recently opened its own community cafe at Fratton Community centre. We run food training schemes and are working alongside Southsea Greenhouse in developing some green spaces within the city for growing food. Admission to the castle is FREE. And, in case you missed it our slogan is good food that doesnt cost the earth.
