On the lunch menu… and available all day.

Our house-made 8oz burger is crafted using premium beef mince from Kittow's Butchers of St Austell, then topped with melted manchego cheese, a crispy chorizo crumb, padrón pepper relish, a fried egg, and fresh rocket. Served with our hand-cut chips.

BBQ is back this Sunday! 🇬🇷

This week we're bringing the flavours of Greece to The Ship Inn with a special Greek BBQ from 5–8pm.

Expect freshly grilled souvlaki, gyros, lamb bifteki, seafood, halloumi, homemade sides and plenty more, all cooked fresh on the BBQ.

No bookings – just come along, grab a drink, soak up the sunshine in our beer garden, and enjoy a relaxed Sunday evening by the coast.

Celebrate the flavours of Cornwall with an evening of Knightor wines, crafted from grapes grown on the Roseland Peninsula, alongside delicious tapas created by Chef Ben using fresh, locally sourced ingredients.

Hosted by our in-house sommelier, Shannon, you'll be guided through each wine and discover what makes every pairing so special.

Our first live music event of the summer... and the first of 10 weeks of Sunday outdoor cooking! ☀️🍻

We're delighted to welcome Our Atlantic Roots to The Ship on Sunday 12th July, playing live from 8pm. Expect an evening of folk with inspiration from both sides of the Atlantic.

Before the music starts, we'll be firing up the outdoor kitchen for the first time this summer, serving food from 5pm–8pm. We're kicking things off with a classic BBQ featuring lobster, burgers, homemade potato salads and plenty more.

PART OF THE CREW, PART OF THE SHIP 🚢 🐙

Meet Jolds.

Jolds is our Sous Chef and one of the key people behind the food coming out of our kitchen.

He first joined Head Chef Ben as a Kitchen Porter four years ago and has worked alongside him ever since. From KP to Sous Chef, he's learned the trade the old-fashioned way – by getting stuck in, working hard and picking up something new every day.

Some say he invented the flatbread. We can't confirm or deny those rumours.

His favourite pint on the bar is Firebrand Shorebreak, so if you see him, you know what to do. 🍺

Seasonal Chef / Kitchen Porter

We're looking for a hardworking, reliable and flexible Chef/KP to join our team at The Ship Inn, Portloe for the summer season.

This is a full-time seasonal role with an immediate start, working across breakfast, lunch and evening service, so flexibility is essential. You'll need to be able to reliably commute to the Roseland Peninsula.

Only three months into trading, we've already become a multiple award-winning business, so it's an exciting time to join us. You'll be working under an incredible young Head Chef as part of an ambitious team in one of the most beautiful locations in the UK.

This would be a fantastic opportunity for a local young person looking for summer work, wanting to learn new skills and gain experience in a busy, award-winning kitchen. Equally, we'd love to hear from anyone with the right attitude who's keen to get stuck in.

🏆 GOLD AWARD WINNERS 🏆

We are absolutely over the moon to announce that we have been awarded a GOLD AWARD in the Dining Pub category from Taste of the West

To receive a Gold Award is a huge honour, but what means even more to us are the words from the judges themselves.

"This was truly outstanding. Having judged for a number of years, The Ship Inn is special. To be at this standard within 2 months of opening shows the hard work and dedication of the team behind the ownership, the kitchen and the front of house."

They described our food as:

"One of the best dinners we have had for a long time."

They praised our local sourcing ethos as:

"Second to none."

And perhaps our favourite comment of all:

"A small dining establishment that is punching above its weight and knocking out of the ring many bigger and longer established pubs and restaurants."

Those aren't our words. They're the words of the Taste of the West judges.

When we reopened our community-owned pub, none of us quite knew what the future would hold. Taking on The Ship was a leap of faith, but from day one our goal was simple: to create a pub that champions great Cornish produce, delivers world-class hospitality and does justice to the extraordinary community that saved this historic harbour pub.

To receive this recognition so early in our journey, alongside the other awards we've been fortunate enough to receive, is something we're incredibly proud of. It wouldn't have been possible without our amazing team, our fantastic local suppliers, our shareholders, our loyal customers and the wider community that continues to support us every day.
