Our Japanese Orange Shortcake makes its Five Loaves debut tomorrow — joining two favourites, our Japanese Strawberry Shortcake and Japanese Cotton Cheesecake. 🍓🍰

Light, fluffy and beautifully balanced, with juicy orange bringing a bright, refreshing citrus finish. 🍊 A fresh new flavour alongside our much-loved Strawberry Shortcake.

It’s finally out from under wraps… 🖤
Meet Kurogoma Choux 黒ごまシュークリーム — the newest addition to our choux family.

For this one, we’ve paired our crisp craquelin choux with a silky black sesame cream. Kurogoma brings a beautifully distinctive flavour — deeply nutty and aromatic, with gentle roasted notes and just the right touch of sweetness.

And this Sunday, it makes its very first appearance at Chapelton Farmers’ Market.

If you’ve never tried black sesame in Japanese pâtisserie before, this might just be the one to discover. And if you already love kurogoma… you’ll know exactly why we’re excited about this one. 🖤

We’re making only a very limited batch for its debut, so come and find us early if you’d like to be among the first to try it.

OUR JAPANESE FINANCIERS ARE BACK

Born in France, the Financier found a special place in Japanese pâtisserie from the 1970s onwards, becoming a much-loved little luxury found in fine pâtisseries and Japan’s elegant department-store food halls — and part of Rie’s own pâtisserie journey in Japan.

Beautifully moist, rich with butter and finely ground almonds, with those distinctive golden-baked edges.

Simple, elegant and perfect for yourself or to gift. ♡

Our younger boy turned 4 last week! 🥳💙

He requested a Hot Wheels cake this year 🏎️🔥 A bit of a last-minute rush with this one, but I managed to pull it all together just in time! 😅 Thanks to the lovely cake topper from Bacesmakestoppers ❤️ and his big brother for letting me borrow his cars for the decorations! 🏎️

Some of you may know him at the farmers’ markets we attend. He’s such a cheerful little boy and brings so many smiles and so much laughter to our family 😂🥰

Hopefully, he’ll be a big help with OLC one day 🤣🤣 Although he’s actually helping already — some of the cake boxes you take home have been made with a little help from him! 🥹🍰

Happy 4th birthday, Ezra! 💙 We love you so much and can’t wait to see what another year of adventures brings! 🥰

It's been two months since our last visit, and we're so excited to be returning to Chapelton Farmers Market this Sunday, 20th September.

Pre-orders are OPEN NOW.
