Have you met Skalli yet?
Half fish, half human, fully Mersey.
Skalli is a seated sculpture playing with River Mersey maritime folklore and local slang, exploring that strange space where urban myth, place and public art start to blur together.
Created by Wirral artist Patric Rogers Patch, Skalli was the winner of the 2026 Liverpool Sculpture Prize.
And on 24.09.26, Skalli story is coming to Nettle.
SKALLI: Notes Upon an Estuary Entity
An evening of folkloric chat, readings, conversation and stories from the Mersey and its shores, alongside the launch of Patric’s lovely new book.
There’ll be books. Original artwork. Idols. Stories.
And, apparently, a few Skallis knocking around the place ;)
