Firefighters Praise Pontypridd Restaurant Sutra For Late Night Rescue Meal 🥘🙏

A newly refurbished Pontypridd restaurant has been hailed for its outstanding hospitality after stepping up to feed exhausted emergency workers who travelled to fight the Welsh wildfires.

Sutra Indian Cuisine, which was previously known as The Cinnamon Tree before undergoing a refurbishment and reopening earlier this year, went above and beyond to keep its doors open well past closing time.

Their late-night efforts ensured that a crew from the Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service received a hot meal after a long and difficult journey to South Wales.

The visiting firefighters faced significant delays when their fire engine broke down en route, causing a very late arrival.
Fortunately, the South Wales Fire and Rescue Service quickly came to their aid to get them moving again.

In a statement thanking the community, the Suffolk crew praised both their Welsh emergency colleagues and the restaurant staff for their incredible support, describing the night as a brilliant example of everyone doing what they can to help others out.

The visiting crew also shared a heartwarming photo standing alongside the proud team at Sutra.

We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming some of the incredible fire crews who have worked tirelessly over the past few weeks to keep our communities safe during the devastating wildfires. ❤️

We cannot thank you enough for your bravery, dedication and the countless hours you’ve put in to protecting others.

A huge thank you to the incredible team at Sutra Indian Cuisine in Pontypridd, South Wales. 🙌

They kindly stayed open past closing time last night so our crew could eat after travelling down to help tackle the Welsh wildfires.

We also want to give a shoutout to South Wales Fire and Rescue Service. 🚒

When our fire engine broke down en route, causing our very late arrival, they quickly came to our rescue.

Two brilliant examples of everyone doing what they can to help others out. 🫶
