⛳️ Golfing holidays Pro-Am!⛳️

What a day at Ponteland! After many, many years without a Pro-Am, it was fantastic to welcome professionals, amateurs and sponsors back to the Club today for our Golfing Holidays Sponsored Pro-Am.

Despite a slightly questionable forecast, the weather was largely kind to us and we were treated to some excellent golf throughout the day.

🏆 Professional Competition

It couldn’t have been much closer, with a three-way tie at the top:

🥇= Steven Harrison – 4 under, 40pts
🥇= Jonathan Graham – 4 under, 40pts
🥇= Jack McCall – 4 under, 40pts
4️⃣= David Clark – 3 under, 39pts
4️⃣= Craig Goodfellow – 3 under, 39pts

It was also brilliant to see such strong female representation amongst the professionals, with three female PGA Professionals competing today – surely that must be a record for the region! 👏🏌️‍♀️

The team event went right down to the wire, with just two points separating the top four.

It was also particularly special to welcome Ray Sentance, former NENW PGA Secretary, back to Ponteland. It was lovely to see Ray and have him join us for what was a very special day for the Club.

🏆 Junior Club Champion 2026 – Will Alderson! 🏆

A huge congratulations to Will Alderson, who has been crowned our 2026 Junior Club Champion following today’s Junior Club Championship! ⛳

Will produced two excellent rounds of 73 & 75, finishing on 148 – just 4 over par for the 36 holes. 👏

As our new Junior Club Champion, Will will now be invited to represent Ponteland Golf Club in the Northern Golfer Champion of Champions Tournament at the end of the season, competing alongside Club Champions from across the region.

A fantastic achievement and a performance to be very proud of.

🏆 CONGRATULATIONS NIK! 🏆

A huge congratulations to our very own Nik Jones, who today won the Northumberland County Seniors Matchplay Final, lifting the Mike Fleming Salver here at his home club! 👏⛳️

What a fantastic achievement, particularly in Nik’s first year as a Senior, defeating the hugely experienced Sandy Twynholm in a closely fought final that went all the way to the 18th.

Congratulations Nik – a brilliant performance and very well deserved! 🏆👏

Nik Reaches the Northumberland Seniors County Matchplay Championship Final!

A huge congratulations to our very own Nik Jones, who has secured his place in the Northumberland Seniors County Matchplay Championship Final.

Nik will take on Sandy Twynholm of Morpeth Golf Club this Sunday 23rd August at 10:45am at Ponteland Golf Club.

It is a fantastic achievement to reach the County Final and we know you will join us in wishing Nik the very best of luck.

Spectators are very welcome, so if you are able to get along, please come and show your support!
