Coffee shop assistant wanted.

The position available is for 16 hours per week between the hours of 9am and 4.15pm Monday to Friday, but will include additional hours for holiday cover and sickness when required.

We are a very busy friendly cafe and the day to day duties will include, serving coffee's, tea's and other drinks, Preparing cooking and serving food, daily cleaning and putting away deliveries.

Previous cafe experience would be an advantage however training will be provided.

If you are interested in applying for this role, please bring a copy of your c.v into the cafe with a covering letter detailing why you think this could be the position for you.

We are delighted to announce that The Salter Row Coffee Lounge will be raising funds for our defibrillator appeal during August.

For the past few years, it's been come apparent that the defibrillator located at Haribo on Front Street does not provide full coverage to the town centre as it is too far away to be used in time, in our busy town centre. Although ideally placed for anybody collecting by car, anybody on foot would struggle to deliver it to a location in the town centre in optimum time.

As part of our ongoing promotion of the town, we work closely with Wakefield Council and they have agreed to support a defibrillator mounted externally at the Town Hall. The location will be the old Police Office, which is now used as a Safe Space. The Council have agreed to take it through the planning and heritage process and support community fundraising, which will be registered with Yorkshire Ambulance Service under the Public Access Defibrillator (P.A.D.) programme. This will provide 24 hr 365 day cover.
It is our intention that the community and local businesses are involved from the start in the fundraising process, thereby ensuring there is community ownership and achievement.
The cost of the AED unit with protective external secure storage will be around £2500, and the annual cost of £200 will be covered by the civic society.
If our target is exceeded we will use any surplus funds to cover some of the costs associated with our events, such as and .

We already have 2 Defibrillator fundraising events planned for the coming months.
• Auction and quiz at the Cartners No5 on 29th September.
• Concert and raffle - The Old Grocers by local musicians provided by Little Bellows on 4th October.

We would be happy to arrange to meet any business to discuss opportunities that you can offer to support our fundraising, which has already started. The addition of The Salter Row Coffee Lounge supporting our appeal in August is a very welcome boost to funding this life-saving piece of equipment for our town. Thank you
