Pane e Vino is a family-run Italian Restaurant in Pocklington, East Yorkshire. Serving traditional Italian and Sardinian food and wine in a friendly atmosphere suitable for families, groups or a romantic evening out. Favourites from homemade stone-baked Pizzas to traditional pasta dishes. There is also a variety of chicken, steak, pork and fish dishes on the menu to suit any taste. The restaurant

is run by brothers Salvatore and Candido Cogni, creating food influenced by their Mamma, Antonietta. All dishes are prepared using the freshest ingredients for those Mediterranean flavours loved by many.

We’re looking forward to hosting Terra Sarda Wines for another journey through Sardinia in a glass on Monday September 8!

The third in our series of wine storytelling events, it will feature six new wines, exclusively available from Terra Sarda Wines in the UK, including some fantastic grape varieties that are unique to the island.

Get acquainted with Bovale Sardo, rare and ancient Semidano, elegant Malvasia, aromatic Cagnulari, a stunning Vermentino di Sardegna, and a stonkingly good Cannonau from the heart of the mountain region.

They’ll be paired with our famous cold platters or ‘tagliere’, featuring the amazing Yorkshire Pecorino. It’s one of the best we’ve ever tasted, made right here in God’s Own Country from local milk by Mario 'ey-up' Olianas, a Sardinian cheesemaker in Otley. 🧀

Tickets are £30pp to include food and six ‘proper’ glasses of wine.

Does anyone remember these menus – just three from 25 years of Pane e Vino, including the very first edition (when we didn't even have a wine licence!)?

Tore, Candido and Paolo have been trawling the archives to bring you a nostalgic one-night-only, set-price menu, packed with delicious golden oldies, to celebrate our 25th birthday on Wednesday, December 18 (psst.... for those of you who told us how much you missed our mozzarella fritta, we heard you!).

There'll be a birthday bevvy (wine/beer/soft drink) on us for every customer and a Santa's sack of surprise gifts!

We'd love for as many of you as possible to join us, so we've arranged two sittings – from 5pm to 7.30pm and 7.30pm til late. Please, please pre-book!

Our last Golden Oldie from 25 years of Pane e Vino menus, this dramatic dish, infused with flavours of the sea, is one of Tore's favourites! For Linguine in Nero, we stain the threads of pasta with Sardinian cuttlefish ink, which has a smooth but intense and briny flavour, putting it firmly in the umami taste category. Then we pile the plate high with succulent king prawns and soft rings of calamari, cooked with garlic, white wine and parsley. Stylish and sensationally savoury, Linguine in Nero is the ultimate dish for seafood lovers – and it will be on the menu from Tuesday! 🍤 🖤

There are 52 sleeps until 🎅 comes hurtling down that chimney... which means our holiday bookings are filling up fast! So we've added some additional opening hours - Monday December 23 and Monday December 30 to make sure no one misses out. Just remember that if you're thinking of joining us for Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve, you must make a reservation and let us know your order in advance, so everyone has a great time (including the kitchen staff 🤣)! While we're on the subject of presents (er, were we? 🤦‍♀️), we now have Pane Gift Vouchers in denominations of £5 to £20, so if all they want for Christmas is a year's supply of our famous garlic breads, you know what to do! 🍕🎄🍕🎄🍕🎄
