✨ SO… WHO THE HELL IS BEHIND FILLIES & FIZZ? ✨

I’ve had SO many new followers recently, so I thought it was probably about time I introduced myself properly! 👋🏼🥂

I’m Kelly — the face, the ideas, the chaos, the cocktail shaker and usually the one covered in spillages, ice and Prosecco! 😂

I’ve now been in business for over 7 years, but the truth is… I’ve wanted to run my own business for as long as I can remember.

I was a manager in the world of childcare, nursed neonates the size of beer bottles 😢, I pot washed from the age of 13 and absorbed alot, even as a kid I was forever coming up with little businesses and ways of making money. 😂 My main customers were usually Mum and Dad, but it gave me something much more important than profit… the dream and ambition to build something of my own.

I didn’t have the grades or the conventional route of starting a business, but I’ve always believed that determination, hard work and a bloody-minded attitude can take you a long way!

Being a proper Daddy’s girl, losing my dad when I was just 19 completely broke my world. 💔

From that day on, so much of what I did was with one thought in the back of my mind…

“Would Dad be proud?”

And honestly, that’s still something that drives me to this day. ❤️

I then went on to care for my mum, who sadly passed away during Covid.

But about a year before that, I had what I can only describe as a “F**K IT” moment.

Life is short.
Ideas are pointless if you never act on them.
And I decided I was going to give this business thing a good go!

It wasn’t long before I started Fillies & Fizz with my best friend — and she remains one of my closest people to this day. ❤️

At the beginning?

A horse box sitting on the drive.
A million ideas.
Absolutely no idea how far it could go. 😂

Those ideas became plans.
The plans became dreams.
And the dreams became reality.

And if you know me, you’ll know one thing…

If I want something, I will work bloody hard to get it.

Fast forward over 7 years and here we are. 🥂🐴✨

Fillies & Fizz has grown into so much more than I ever imagined.

And I genuinely believe people don’t just buy into Fillies & Fizz…

They buy into the passion.

They see how much I love what I do.

I’m not about being greedy. I’m about being realistic, creating affordable good times, making people smile and giving them a bar experience they’ll remember.

From weddings and parties to festivals, cocktails, Prosecco, ridiculous amounts of beer and everything in between…

I love it.

🥂 THE REVIEWS JUST KEEP COMING… AND WE’RE LOVING IT! 🥂

These reviews honestly mean SO much to us because they show that all the hard work that goes on behind the scenes in the weeks and months leading up to the big day is 100% worth it! ❤️

We had an absolute blast at Thomas & Francis’ beautiful wedding, shaking cocktails, pouring drinks and soaking up one hell of an atmosphere! 🍸🥂✨

And the only real difficult decision of the day?

Which cocktail to have next! 😂🍹

Our fabulous cocktail menu certainly got a workout… in fact, EVERY. SINGLE. COCKTAIL. was ordered — and most of them were made at least 10 times over! 😳🍸

Beers flowed 🍺
Spirits were enjoyed 🥃
Cocktails were shaken 🍸
And the dance floor…

WOW. WHAT. A. VIBE! 💃🕺🔥

There was no standing around looking pretty at this wedding — these guests came ready to CELEBRATE! And we absolutely loved being part of it.

Thomas & Francis, thank you for choosing Fillies & Fizz to be part of your special day. It was an absolute pleasure raising a glass (or 10 😉) with you all!

When your glass-collecting skills become an Olympic sport… and your eyes turn into those of a bird of prey, constantly scanning the room for your next victim… 👀😂

Packing up at the end of the night is a SPEEDY affair at Fillies HQ!

Glasses collected ✅
Washing up like we’ve got a plane to catch… or in our case, mainly a ferry! ⛴️😂
Sides wiped down ✅
Everything boxed up like we’re moving house 📦
Car loaded (somehow!) 🚗
Bar decor dismantled — yes, including all those pretty little details that were discussed in approximately 47 emails beforehand 😂
Waste sorted like we’re emptying Santa’s sack 🎅
Leftover stock carried out with muscles of steel 💪🏻

And actually… all that cocktail shaking has finally paid off because carrying the booze feels strangely easy! 🍸😂 well it’s a lot lighter as it has mainly been consumed 😂

Then there’s the final jobs… thanking guests as they head off to their carriages, wishing them luck with the hangover, saying those “lovely to meet you” goodbyes… whilst secretly feeling like we’ve made a whole load of new friends because we’ve spent the entire day laughing, chatting, shaking cocktails and keeping the good vibes flowing! ❤️

Then comes the farewell hug with the bride & groom… 🥹❤️

…and BOOM.

FULL THROTTLE.

Land to sea. 🏎️💨

Country lanes conquered at speeds that would probably have made Lewis Hamilton nervous… only to discover that all that effort was completely pointless because…

WE MISSED THE FERRY. 😂😂😂

So there we are. Sat in the ferry queue, desperately trying not to fall asleep, whilst simultaneously getting delirious and bursting into hysterical laughter because we’re absolutely shattered…

But we’ve just had an EPIC day. So we’re buzzing. Literally.

We board the ferry and are greeted by our regular dirty-stop-out seagull on the Plymouth side. 🐦😂

Drop off.
Home.
Shower.
Collapse.

Except…

NOPE.

Two hours later and we’re still wide awake, completely wired and buzzing from the day we’ve just had! 🤣

Because THAT is the thing about Fillies & Fizz…

We might finish absolutely shattered…

…but we bloody love what we do. 🥂🍸❤️

And what a day it was…
