It's George here. Round 1 closed at midnight last night, and what a vote it was. 1,162 of you had your say. Thank you, every one of you.

I've been through every single vote by hand: one vote per person, and your first one counts. At 8pm tonight I'll reveal the top ten charities going through to the final vote.

A quick word before I do. Charity of the Year is for registered charities only, so the ten going through are all registered charities. If your group isn't a registered charity but you're raising money for a good cause, I'm always happy to help. Come and talk to me about hosting a fundraising event in the Phillips Bar, our function room.

It's George here. The nights are drawing in, so I've lit the fire and knocked the price down on three of my favourite ales.

From today until Monday, Tribute, Jail Ale and Proper Job are £5 a pint (£2.55 a half), while stocks last.

Grab a seat by the fire, bring a mate, and make the most of it before it's gone.

Open today and tomorrow from 12 noon (till midnight tonight, 8pm Sunday), and Monday 4pm–8pm.

Over 18s only. While stocks last. Please drink responsibly.
