And so it begins...

The next van conversion is officially underway at Colebrook CSC Transporters.

We’re going to be sharing this one as it progresses, from these very first stages right through to the finished van, so you can follow along and see what actually goes into a full campervan conversion.

There’s plenty planned for this one, and once completed, this van will be up for sale. So if you’re looking for a ready-to-go camper, keep an eye on the page.

We now supply and fit Bear Lock vehicle security

We’re pleased to announce that Colebrook CSC Transporters is now supplying and professionally fitting Bear Lock vehicle security from our workshop in Plympton, Plymouth.

Bear Lock is a permanently installed mechanical security system that locks the gearbox or gear selector in position, adding another physical layer of protection to your vehicle.

One of the things we really like about Bear Lock is how simple it is to use. The short video shows just how quick it is to lock when you leave your vehicle and unlock again when you’re ready to go.

As a mechanical system, it doesn’t rely on an app, mobile signal, wireless connection or vehicle battery to provide its protection.

Bear Lock systems are available for a huge range of commercial vans, campervans and motorhomes, with different systems designed to suit specific vehicles and gearbox configurations.

WORKSHOP WEDNESDAY

It’s been another busy week here at Colebrook CSC Transporters in Plympton, Plymouth! From servicing and repairs to conversions and bespoke fabrication, there’s been a huge variety of vehicles and projects making their way through our workshops.

We’ve had multiple Transporters through the workshop for servicing, MOTs, general maintenance and repairs, alongside some much bigger jobs:

• T5 in for lowering
• Timing belt replacements
• Two vans undergoing complete engine overhauls
• Brazilian Bay in for welding repairs, bodywork and engine repairs
• Fabrication of spare wheel carriers, side bars and a rear ladder for a Citroën Relay
• T6.1 in for interior carpet lining and electrics
• T6.1 undergoing a full Plym Plus conversion
• Retrofit of an underslung gas system to an existing motorhome
• Peugeot Boxer in for a rear suspension upgrade with additional load support springs
• Iveco in for DPF system fault investigation and repair
• Fiat Ducato in for injector fault investigation and repair

And then there’s the monster Hymer 4x4 motorhome!

That’s with us for a whole range of work, including bespoke fabrication of side steps and tow points, a suspension upgrade using Falcon 4.4 springs and adjustable shock absorbers, plus removal of the standard toilet and installation of a Clesana toilet system.

And that’s only some of what’s been through the doors this week!

From everyday servicing and MOTs to diagnostics, engine work, fabrication, conversions and motorhome upgrades, there’s certainly never a dull moment in the Colebrook workshops.

Well, this is a bit of VW van history all in one picture!

Three generations, three proper workhorses: T4, T6 and Crafter, all sharing the workshop at the same time.

Different eras, different shapes, but all unmistakably Volkswagen. Quite a cool shot when you realise what’s actually in it! 🚐🧡

💡 LET THERE BE LIGHT! 💡

We recently had a Citroën Relay in for a fairly serious lighting upgrade… and when we say serious, we mean VERY bright! 😎

We supplied and fitted:

🔸 Roof-mounted spotlights
🔸 Ditch lights
🔸 A-bar spotlights
🔸 Lower-mounted spotlights
🔸 Rock lights underneath
🔸 6-gang switch panel to keep everything neatly controlled from inside the cab

The result? Whether it’s lighting up a dark lane, a campsite, a work area or just finding your way around the van at night, there certainly shouldn’t be any complaints about not being able to see!

And with everything running through the 6-gang control panel, the different lighting can be switched independently depending on what’s actually needed.

A bit of old-school VW in the workshop! 🔧

We’ve had this very tidy VW T4 in with us for a few performance upgrades.

This one has had:

🔸 Upgraded injectors using Bosch 0.216 nozzles
🔸 Intercooler upgrade
🔸 Upgraded airbox
🔸 ECU remap

A nice combination of upgrades to improve the way the T4 breathes, fuels and performs, while keeping that classic T4 character.

Those who follow our page will know that we took delivery of our new-to-us plasma cutter last week.

It certainly didn’t take us long to put it to work!

Once we had it set up, we got straight into designing and making these custom brackets. Designed by us, cut in-house using the plasma cutter, then finished and painted ready for the job.

And they’re not for something small either! These have been made specifically to allow us to fit side steps to a BIG Mercedes motorhome.

Having the plasma cutter in-house gives us even more scope to design and manufacture custom parts when an off-the-shelf solution simply doesn’t exist.

Design it. Cut it. Make it. Fit it.
