THE LINER LOOKOUT CAFE IS SITUATED ON PLYMOUTH HOE, NEAR SMEATON'S TOWER. ORIGINALLY A LOOKOUT FOR THE LINERS COMING INTO PLYMOUTH SOUND IN THE LATE 1800'S. APPROXIMATELY 1970 THE POLICE HANDED THE BUILDING BACK TO PLYMOUTH CITY COUNCIL WHO BOARDED IT UP AND LEFT IT TO BECOME DERILICT. IN 2014 PLYMOUTH CITY COUNCIL INVITED PEOPLE TO COME UP WITH IDEAS TO BRING THE BUILDING BACK TO LIFE. ANN AND DA

VE MORRISH APPROACHED THE COUNCIL WITH A VIEW TO USING THE BUILDING AS A CAFE, DECK CHAIR HIRE AND FREE GIANT GRASS GAMES FOR CHILDREN. THIS IDEA WAS APPROVED BY THE COUNCIL AND IN JANUARY 2015 WORK STARTED ON THE RENOVATION BUILD. THE BUILDING WAS FINALLY BROUGHT BACK TO LIFE IN APRIL 2015. THE LINER LOOKOUT CAFE NOW SERVES VARIOUS COFFEES, PLYMOUTH TEA, ICE CREAM AND VARIOUS FOODS. GIANT GRASS GAMES ARE ON THE GRASS AREA AND ARE FREE FOR THE CHILDREN TO USE. DECK CHAIRS AND COFFE TABLES ARE PROVIDED FOR CUSTOMERS USE WITH THE MOST BEAUTIFUL VIEW OVER PLYMOUTH SOUND.
