As soon as you see the sign for Down Thomas you cross a speed bump (Slow 20 MPH) look right for the sign"Bovisand Lane" follow this lane downhill with open fields either side. Enjoy the elevated view as you descend a tight lane ( loads of passing places) until you reach the Main gate, drive on and through to the car park. A stunning Cafe situated On the fringes of the Coastline just outside Plymouth. Bovisand has three beaches popular for day trippers, local walkers,surfer, paddle boarders, kayackers or even Spear fishing...
If that does not take your fancy approach via the coastal path either from the South from Heybrook Bay or from the North from Jennycliff. If that all sounds too strenuous just park up and enjoy your well deserved treat. We serve breakfasts and have Coffee and fine tea to quench your thirsts, we provide a variety of options to eat whether you are a healthy eater or looking for your once a month treat...so come on in and give us a try...
I have been asked to add that Bovisand lane is a fairly long downhill stretch. Just to confirm that you have the right turning you will see a caravan park entrance to the right ... continue straight on downhill traversing the left side of the park.

From autumn and throughout the winter, Café Bovisands will be open Friday, Saturday & Sunday. ☕️
The quieter months can be challenging for a little café like ours. When the weather turns, footfall naturally drops — and unlike cafés on a busy high street or commuter route, you have to make a little journey to come and find us. We’re not somewhere you simply pass by and think, “I’ll pop in.”

That’s why every visit genuinely makes a difference. ❤️
Whether you’re joining us for a coffee and cake, a hearty breakfast, lunch, or just somewhere warm to sit and watch the seasons change, your custom helps us keep the doors open through the autumn and winter.

Once the summer holidays start, we'll also be opening every Tuesday to help keep you fuelled for all your beach days! 🏖️☕🍦

As many of you know, we're a small, independent business owned by Ed. Running a seasonal café by the beach is incredibly rewarding, but it also comes with its challenges. Finding staff, managing resources and keeping everything going isn't always easy, so every single customer who chooses to visit us really does make a difference.
