The Writing Café at Plymouth University aims to reframe the traditional notion that academic writing is a “solitary, isolated, solely competitive activity.” Based on the coffeehouse culture of 19th century Europe the café seeks to celebrate creativity, communication and collaboration. The café will have a distinct identity as a purposeful writing space where staff and students have the opportunity

to develop their practice through engagement with other writers. The Writing Café works as a drop in session so just feel to turn up whenever we're open. No need to book!
