Quite a week we’ve had. Obviously the sudden closure of the Black Cat last Friday hit us hard, we’re going to miss every single one of you that’s supported us out there over the years. The outpouring of support meant a tonne to the staff, we’d love to have replied to you all but there have been just too many of you.
If you’ve been out to the Broadway you’ll see it’s pretty much empty in there now, we’ve salvaged a load of our branded gear and set up in a little corner of So if you’ve wanted to pick up a souvenir for a while now they’re all discounted and waiting for you. We’ve got the lovely mugs, prints, surf stuff and the last bits of retail merch.

So you may have seen the news on our Instagram but sad to say it's the end of the road for Black Cat. The full story on our instagram if you want to know more. Thanks to everyone that has supported us since 2020, we took a massive leap of faith taking a unit on The Broadway during lockdown and for a while it was awesome but more and more food operators around us had just eaten our profits. Running a business with dropping sales and no profit is no fun - it's not why we got into business! All good at Rockets & Rascals and Terra Nova Cafe so if you can travel and need great coffee then you'll see the familiar faces right there. Thanks to everyone that supported us, it's been a blast!

That’s a wrap on 2025 Plymstock ! What a year it’s been. To our customers who made us part of their daily routine, and to our staff who give their all every day—thank you. Merry Christmas from all of us at Plymouth RNLI

This morning our volunteer crew launched our all-weather Severn class lifeboat ‘Sybil Mullen Glover’ for the final exercise before Christmas. Deputy Coxswain Cameron Hicks led the exercise, adding a festive twist for our trainee navigators.

From everyone at Plymouth RNLI, thank you to all our followers for your continued support throughout 2025.

We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a happy, peaceful 2026.

Our dedicated volunteers crew and members of the Ops team remain on call 24/7. We are ready to go when the pager sounds.
