Happy Birthday to Connor Wilson. 22 today!
He joined the Dory in September 2021, aged 17 years. He had finished at Waid Academy but wasn't sure what he wanted to do as a career.
Maybe trades, maybe not.
He started with us as a Kitchen Porter and by 2022 he was a Kitchen Assistant. He had a go at trialling as a joiner's apprentice but returned to the Dory and in May 2023 he put on his first Chef's jacket and has never looked back. We supported him through 1 year of part-time study in Professional Cookery at Fife College in Kirkcaldy.
He is now a very highly valued chef in our team; skilled, hard working, eager and quick to learn, fab palate, keen to try new things out and brilliant fun to work with. And VERY reliable.
This experience has given him considerably more life options than he had five years ago.
