The White Swan Inn has been welcoming friends, families and new guests from around the world with enchanting hospitality since 1532. Situated in the historic old market town of Pickering on the edge of the North York Moors, the 16th century building was pressed into service as a coaching inn on the ancient ‘Salt Route’ from Whitby to the commercial centre of York. You can feel the history of this old inn in the atmospheric public rooms sitting by the side of the roaring fires and in the very fabric of the stones of the building that have seen so many travellers come and go over the centuries.

And just like that, autumn. 🍂

The days begin to shorten, the moors start to turn, and evenings at the inn feel a little more inviting.

Long walks come with cooler air, a drink outside still has its moment, and there’s something particularly good about knowing dinner and a warm room are waiting afterwards.

A rather good season to disappear to North Yorkshire for a couple of days.

Two nights in Pickering. Time for the moors, a wander through town, dinner back at the inn and absolutely no need for an early start the following morning.

Our Autumn Stay includes two nights, breakfast both mornings, £45 per person towards dinner on the first night of your stay only, and a 12pm late checkout.
