Chocolate dip waffle in hand, van on the go, that’s a good day in my book.

There’s always a little buzz when I start handing these out of the hatch. You can spot the keen ones a mile off, waiting for the jingle in places like Ashington or Storrington, already knowing they’re going for a chocolate dip waffle before I’ve even parked up.

If this is your go‑to order as well, let me know in the comments so I know who else is on the chocolate dip team.

Bit of a face-to-name post today.

Most of you know me from a quick chat at the gate or a wave as I drive past, so it felt about time I popped up on here properly too. I’ve been running T&M Ices since 2003 and I still get a kick out of seeing the same families year after year, plus all the new faces that join in along the way.

It’s the little moments that stick with me. Kids proudly paying with their own pocket money for the first time. Grandparents pointing out “this is the man I used to come to when your mum was your age.” Catching up with how exams went or how work’s treating you now. Those stories stay with me far longer than the miles I’ve done.

So if you spot me out and about around Pulborough or anywhere else in West Sussex, don’t be shy. Give me a wave, stop for a natter and let me know what you’ve been up to. That’s the bit that makes it all feel worthwhile.

Funny how a bit of music from a van can tell you what kind of day it is.

I’ve lost count of the evenings rolling into places like West Chiltington and Thakeham, windows cracked open, jingle going, and people already waiting at the usual spots. Same lay‑bys, same village greens, same little nods from the regulars who hear us before they see us.

If you spot the van out and about around West Sussex, give it a wave. And if you’re planning a wedding, school fair or village do and fancy that familiar tune turning up for the day, drop me a message and we’ll see what we can sort.

Sherbet waffle in hand and I’m a happy man.

This one always takes me straight back to being a kid, sticky fingers and all. I see the same grins now when I hand a sherbet waffle over that I remember from years ago on my early rounds.

If a sherbet waffle is your go‑to as well, let me know in the comments so I know who I’m sharing this favourite with.

Sometimes you just can’t beat a straight up 99 waffle.

No fuss, no tricky decisions, just a classic 99 waffle in your hand and a few quiet minutes to enjoy it. It’s still one of the most asked‑for treats on the menu and I can see why.

If a 99 waffle is your go‑to, let me know in the comments so I know I’m not the only one keeping this classic alive.

Bit of a personal one today.

I’ve spent a lot of years behind the hatch, but what stays with me isn’t the miles on the clock, it’s the people. The quick catch ups about school runs, the “you were at my mum’s wedding” stories, the kids who now turn up driving their own cars and still call me by name.

If you’ve ever waved me down, had a chat at the gate or sent a kind message after an event, thank you. You’re the reason I’m still at it and still enjoying it after all these years.

If you spot me out and about, don’t be afraid to say hello and tell me how life’s going your side. I never get tired of hearing it.

Sherbet pot fans, this one’s for you.

There’s always a little ripple of excitement when I start serving these out of the van. Proper throwback flavour, and it seems to bring out the big kid in everyone, whether I’m on the school field or rolling through places like Thakeham and Coldwaltham.

If a sherbet pot is your go‑to order, let me know in the comments so I know who’s keeping this classic going.

Little snapshot of life in the cab for you.

Most days it’s just me, the van and a lot of familiar faces. I know the bends in the road into Ashington and the view as you roll into West Chiltington almost as well as I know the regulars who give me a wave. This old van has been my office, kitchen and front room since 2003 and I wouldn’t swap it.

If you spot me out and about, don’t be shy. Stick your hand up, come over for a chat and tell me how things are going your end. It’s those moments that keep me loving what I do.

Not every pot has to be fancy. A plain pot is still one of my favourites, especially on a warm afternoon when you just want that proper whippy taste without anything getting in the way.

I see a lot of regulars stick to a plain pot as their go‑to, and I always think they’ve got the right idea. If that’s your order too, let me know in the comments so I know I’m in good company.
