Here's what you've all been waiting for. Our satay sauce.
One of the simplest sauces we sell (you'll kick yourselves)
Ingredients:
1 Jar of Jimmy's Saté Sauce
400g of Peanut butter (smooth/crunchy we use both)
[We use Asda brand Peanut butter because its already thick and will help thicken the sauce when cooking]
Water
Steps:
1. Combine Jimmy's Saté sauce and Peanut butter in a bowl and mix thoroughly.
[Keep refrigerated or can be frozen]
2. In a pan, cook your meat (and veg) until fully cooked through.
3. Turn down the heat to a medium low / low and add some water enough to cover the bottom of the pan, about 80-100ml.
4. Add 2 tablespoons of your mixed Satay paste and stir until combined with the water.
5. Now pay attention this is important. Continue to cook on a low heat while stirring. It will start off a bit runny and will thicken itself as it heats up. DO NOT BRING TO THE BOIL. If you boil it, it will split and your pan will be full of oil.
6. When you start to see small pockets of bubbles appearing take it off the heat and serve right away. If you leave it in the pan it will continue to thicken just with the heat of the pan.
As soon as you start Step 4. It's best to start getting plates ready with any rice, chips etc.
You can also make the sauce in the microwave if you're just craving the sauce.
1. In a microwave safe container add 100ml water and 2 tablespoons of Satay paste and mix well.
2. In short bursts of 10 secs you're going to microwave it on high, each time taking it out and stirring it. After a few blasts it'll start to thicken.
3. As it starts to thicken microwave in 5 second bursts until desired consistency. Importantly don't over blast it or it'll split.
So now you can enjoy our Satay sauce at home and in the office
