We would like to say the biggest, most heartfelt thank you to every single person who has supported our fundraising efforts for Alfie over the past week.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of our wonderful family and community, we have been raising money through our Oakham Ales beer 'A Beer for Alfie', our Beer & Bottle Ticket Sale, and the donations placed into the goblet on the bar.
We were incredibly fortunate to have one barrel generously donated by Oakham Ales, with The Butchers Arms donating a second barrel, meaning every pint sold from those barrels went directly towards helping Alfie on his long road to recovery.

Our Beer & Bottle Ticket Sale was an overwhelming success, thanks to the amazing generosity of everyone who donated prizes and bought tickets.

Combined with every pint poured, every ticket sold and every coin dropped, together you have helped us raise an incredible £1,809.70

That figure is far more than just a number. It represents kindness, compassion, friendship and a community coming together when one of its own needed help the most.

From everyone at The Butchers Arms, and from all of Alfie's family, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We simply cannot find the words to express how grateful we are for the love and support you have shown.
The past few weeks have been some of the hardest times our family has ever faced, and although Alfie still has a long journey ahead of him, knowing that so many people are standing beside him has given us strength, hope and comfort during the darkest of times.
You have all played a part in helping Alfie on his road to recovery, and that is something we will never, ever forget.

Alfie update from Auntie Holli and a message from Alfie 🩵

I’ve been to see Alfie today and had a really lovely chat with him.
After seeing him Friday so distressed it was so upsetting to see. But today he was nice and settled into Addenbrookes and was a lot happier.

I told him about how quick the ‘A beer with Alfie’ had gone! In fact that quick that we have used a second barrel we already had at the Butchers we which have also donated to the cause. The second barrel has also gone.

I also told him how many raffle tickets we have sold (loads) and also has many people had so generously donated bottles to the raffle! Again we have had loads which is amazing. Thank you so much.

He has seen the Go fund me too of course.

Alfie said Thank you so much to everyone who has been involved with everything we have done for him towards raising the funds to get him back to the UK. Alfie doesn’t say too much but he is so very grateful and happy to be able to be back in the UK and able to see more family and friends.

Thank you also from me the support and donations have been so very overwhelming and we are all so amazed by the amazing continuous support! It really does show how a community of people, friends, family and strangers can pull together to help Alfie on his way to recovery 🩵🩵###
