Yesterday I went up into Scotland to Galashiels to buy a new young Tup.

Its vital to keep new genetics coming into my flock.

I have been so impressed with the Exlana lambs I have produced.

So this year I'll be delving deeper into the easycare system with an UltiMate Tup.

I managed to purchase the best Tup lamb with the very best data on the day. He is in the top 1% for all of his data on....
growth,
fat cover,
muscle depth,
his weight at 8 weeks old
His maternal ability, his gimmer lambs he will produce will have exceptional mothering abilities needing no assistance.
Litter size, a high probability of him contributing to twin births. We don't want singles or triplets!!

Viewing the data is incredibly important. There is so much information gathered over generations to move a flock forward quickly. This allows me to farm without government subsidy, improves efficiency in lamb growth. And significantly reduces any need for chemical interventions.

These tups are presented straight out of the field. No hard feed distorting their appearance.

Ginger Sue has had her litter. 10 little pink piglets. What a nest she has built. She does have the trailer but has chosen to have them outside. Imagine if she was belly deep in mud like many pig fields are.

Sh***un, another one of our Wagyu bulls, is outside with a couple of incalf girls and Mitsy the Jersey. He has quite a spring in his step.
