👀 SNEAKY PEAK 👀

We’ve had so many emails, messages and comments asking the same thing…

“Can we see inside the cabins?”

Now, we’ve been told we should wait until everything is completely finished before showing anyone.

The curtains aren’t up yet.

There are still a few finishing touches to add.

And there are probably a hundred little jobs left on Emma’s list.

But who listens to rules? 😉

So here it is. Your very first look inside our new lakeside cabins at .

We’ve spent months planning, building and obsessing over every little detail. We wanted somewhere that felt cosy, peaceful and unmistakably Basecamp.

A place to wake up slowly and drink coffee overlooking the water.

Watch the alpacas grazing nearby and head out onto the fells. 🦙🦙🦙

Then come back, light the fire and put your feet up.

We’re not quite finished yet, but we have no patience and we simply couldn’t keep it secret any longer 😂

The sun’s out. The BBQ is fired up. And somehow, Cumbria’s looking more like the Med today. ☀️🔥

At Basecamp North Lakes, the counters are absolutely loaded with BBQ favourites ready for the heatwave.

🥩 Heritage breed steaks cut and prepared by our butchers
🍢 Homemade chicken kebabs made in house using fresh chicken breast
🐑 Local lamb chops packed with flavour
🐖 Proper pork chops from quality local pork — easily some of the best around
🍔 Handmade burgers, sausages and BBQ essentials ready for the grill
🍺 Ice cold local beers waiting in the fridge

This is what we do. Most of the meat on our counters is prepared right here by our team using local produce and native breeds wherever possible.

No imported supermarket rubbish. No mystery meat. Just proper butchery, proper ingredients and food we’re proud to put our name to.

Get stocked up while the sun’s still here — because we all know a Cumbrian summer doesn’t hang around for long. 🌞

Join us for an evening of shared tables and homemade curries made using local produce from our butchers’ counter and vegetables from our community garden.

The night includes the showing of two short films and a special guest talk from Coached by Rudi about his upbringing and life in the Lake District, his time as a marine, and the uplifting community behind the 4ZERO Run Club.

Any profits from the evening will go directly to support our community garden for the season ahead.

• Shared Basecamp curry night with meat and vegetarian curries.
• Rice and sides included.
• Talk from Coached by Rudi and Q&A.
• Hot drink included. Cake available as an extra.
• Local beers also available from the fridge as an extra
• £25 per person.

We joined Danny Teasdale and the team from Ullswater Catchment Management CIC for another tree planting project here at Basecamp North Lakes. 🌱

For those that don’t know, Basecamp has already set aside more than 20 acres of land for wildlife habitat, wetland restoration, ponds, tree planting, and biodiversity projects here in the Lake District, with future plans to set aside even more.

The difference over the last few years has been incredible. Wildlife is flocking back in droves. Birds, amphibians, insects, and species we simply didn’t see before are now returning to the land.

Trees at Basecamp are super important, even though the wind up here sometimes has other ideas. 🌬️🌳

You’ll also spot some of the Woolly Army watching closely in the background during the planting. Mad Malcolm was slightly annoyed somebody else was getting all the attention for once. 🦙😂

Danny and his team do a huge amount of work across the Ullswater catchment helping improve water quality, reduce flooding, restore habitats, and support long-term environmental projects across Cumbria and the Lake District.

This project was funded by the Environment Agency and brought together members of the Environment Agency, Natural England, and local volunteers to help plant native trees here on the land.

The idea is simple.
🌳 Better habitats for wildlife
🌳 Improved soil stability
🌳 Reduced runoff into rivers and lakes
🌳 Long-term protection for the landscape around us

A lot of this work happens quietly behind the scenes, often in freezing cold conditions, but it genuinely matters for the future of Cumbria.

At we believe farming, food production, tourism, and nature can work together with the right long-term thinking.

A massive thank you to Danny Teasdale, Ullswater Catchment Management CIC, the Environment Agency, Natural England, and everybody involved for all the hard work they do across Cumbria. 👏
