🫪 A SENIOR MOMENT IS ON ITS WAY!
Well actually it'll be 24 hours because Friday is Senior Citizens Day (and many of us volunteers fall into that category). However age is but a number and we're all still bursting with energy 😄 and looking forward to welcoming our lovely customers.
Soups this week are Mushroom with Fennel and Carrot & Coriander.
And lastly WE'RE STILL LOOKING FOR A SOUPMAKER AND GENERAL HELPERS. Remember that's just working one Friday in four - and flexibility is our mantra.
Connections Café open every Friday 10am-2pm come 🌧 or 🌞.

🎶Karma Karma Karma Karma Karma Chameleon
No, we're not bursting into song (not with my voice anyway 😱). It's merely an introduction to the fact that Friday is World Lizard Day. Lizard is the common name for any squamate reptiles that are not snakes. And would you believe it there are over 7000 species spread over all continents except Antarctica (a touch too chilly methinks).
Anyway nothing reptilian on the menu this week. Soups are Leek & Potato and Yellow Split Pea.
Hope to see you Friday. Looks like al fresco is on the cards.

TOMORROW TOMORROW WE LOVE YOU TOMORROW...
it's another Cafe day 😃 and another Friday to enjoy a warm welcome and tasty food. Soups on the menu will be Carrot & Coriander and Tomato & Vegetable with Basil.
Look forward to serving you in the Carriage House anytime between 10am and 2pm.

🐕🐩🐶🐾🦮 IT'S A DOG'S LIFE
Well Friday is anyway because it's National Mutt Day celebrating mixed breed dogs - that includes your designer dog or regular mongrel. And the Café welcomes them all (let's clarify that - the well behaved ones). A bowl of water awaits your cherished pooch.
Soups this week are Lightly Curried Parsnip & Carrot and Tomato & Lentil.
Serving 10am-2pm inside the Carriage House, al fresco or takeaway.

LOOK TO THE HEAVENS ON FRIDAY
and you may be fortunate to see the gibbous waxing moon. The waxing gibbous phase is when the lit-up part of the moon's face grows from about 50% to 100% which means that it is getting bigger, the oval-to-round shape. Now if that's not fascinating enough, here's something else of wow factor proportions. Gibbous is also the name of a well known humpback whale. He is easily recognised by a unique, convex gash on his tail fluke that resembles a gibbous moon. Gibbous was first documented in 2010 and is believed to be around 16 years old. He migrates between the Hawaian breeding grounds and the Salish Sea in British Columbia. So not around our neck of the woods.
However Connections Café most definitely is and this week we'll be serving up another two delicious soups (Lentil or Tomato & Basil) along with all the other goodies you've come to expect.

HURRAH HURRAH - WE'RE BACK IN BUSINESS FROM FRIDAY
We've had our two week break and looking forward to serving you again.
10am-2pm in the Carriage House for more delicious soups, freshly prepared filled rolls and last but not least sweet treats aplenty. 😃😃

LAST FRIDAY BEFORE THE HOLIDAYS!
Cafe will be closed on 3rd and 10th July giving our fantastic volunteers a well deserved break. But we'll be back on the 17th with renewed vigour 😃.
Back to this week, soups are tomato and carrot with coriander. Of course the home bakers are hard at work to bring you plenty of sweet treats too.
