As we approach the busy festive period, we are looking to strengthen our team with two full time hires. Position one is barista/front of house and the individual must have experience in this area and be confident running front of house in a busy cafe environment. Position two is a kitchen assistant role. Experience in this position is not essential but this role requires someone who is very organised and would like to work with food. That’s a wrap! Yesterday marked the end of the British fair hosted at the amazing 【公式】日本橋三越本店 department store in Tokyo and what a week we’ve had. Once again we brought a taste of Griff’s Deli to Japan and served up hundreds of our classic sandwiches and Welsh themed lamb burgers using our range of delicious chutneys. A huge thank you to our Japanese customers for your amazing feedback throughout the week. It was so nice meeting you all.

Also a special thank you to the amazing team at 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐭 𝐆𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝 カルネ・グルモン🇯🇵🇫🇷インポーター for making me feel right at home and ensuring everything was running smoothly.

Great to see our neighbours The Fuji Butcher again. These guys make the most delicious sausages and sausage rolls and I’m excited to see what you guys do next. Also thanks to Matt and Kae from the Welsh government in Japan for stopping by and supporting us 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 🇯🇵

We’re incredibly excited to be back in Tokyo next week for the Nihombashi Mitsukoshi British Fair 2026. We’ll be showcasing our classic Griff’s sandwiches, chutneys and this time we’ll be cooking some Welsh themed lamb burgers made with Anglesey sea salt. We can’t wait to greet our new Japanese customers and the awsome team 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐭 𝐆𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐝 カルネ・グルモン🇯🇵🇫🇷インポーター. We get asked a lot for local honey and this is about as local as it gets. Collected from bee hives on top of one of the university campuses in Cardiff City centre. This swarm of clever bees has produced a delicious spring honey with a slight minty after taste. We highly recommend giving this stuff a try. Available at our stall in Cardiff market and Penarth.

This week marks four years of Griff’s. Now’s a great time to thank all of our fantastic customers, new and old. Quite simply, without you we don’t exist so we are truly grateful for the continued support.

It’s also a good time to announce some small changes we’re going to make (penarth only). Our daytime trade has been fantastic, in particular our breakfast and lunchtime food sales have sky rocketed since moving into our new home. So we’re going to focus all our efforts into this area, bringing you the same Griff’s classics but with the addition of more brunch and lunch items. We’ll no longer be operating our regular Friday and Saturday evenings and instead we will reserve our venue for specialist evening events including our popular monthly w**e tastings, private hire and themed kitchen pop ups.
