So today finally sees me saying goodbye to Beans beats and bites.
I think most of you know over the last year, my heart hasn’t really been in this anymore I honestly feel the reason I’ve kept going is because of you lovely lot that constantly came down and saw me on a Thursday and Friday at The Old Manor.
you’re not customers you are great friends and it’s something that I will forever be grateful for.
your support has meant the world to me and my family and the ride has been incredible.
I never would’ve thought back in 2020 in lockdown that this business would thrive and keep going.
Most of you know that my full-time job for the last 20 years has been Music and it has and always will be my number one priority. I can’t actually believe that the band and the solo work is getting busier and busier. And it’s something that I’m eternally grateful for.
I feel so lucky that I’ve managed to run two businesses that have been successful but unfortunately something had to give. I was beginning to resent working on the trailer and after what happened to my brother in May last year I soon realised that life is too short to be unhappy or tired and this is the reason why I’ve decided to stop trading.

Now for a few thanks….
Back in June 2020 I put a drunk post up on Facebook asking if anyone had a Coffee van. Dean Burton messaged me saying I’m in let’s buy a Coffee van together and he was the one that found Trixie up in Hereford when we drove up together to take a look at her. I think we both realised that this was a business for one person, but if it wasn’t for Dean, I wouldn’t have bought her.

To the guys at Wall Hill Caravan Park where I first started.. Tony, Amy and FAMILY…thank you for setting me up for my first ever season and it’s something that I absolutely loved.
Then to The Old Manor where my six month stint turned into four years!! I can’t thank Mandy and Martyn enough for letting me park up every week and let me trade. I knew the minute I set up at the Manor I didn’t want to be anywhere else
Finally to each and everyone of you that I’ve come down and bought coffees, /ate cakes flatbreads etc etc …
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!!!
I would genuinely have not survived if it wasn’t for your constant support!
As I said earlier, you aren’t customers or regulars, you are my friends and it’s something that I will always treasure.
So in the meantime, my Music will continue. My Love of Coffee will continue,my s**t banter will always remain the same!!

I think it’s about time to tell you whats been happening over these last few months !
This year has been a weird one for me . It’s the first time in 5 years where I’ve honestly thought about calling it a day .
Once the kids broke up for the summer,gigs went through the roof and the crazy thing is it hasn’t stopped .
I think you all know that if I had a choice between coffee and music, I would choose music every day. I’m just about to go into my 20th year as a full time musician and honestly, I love it more now than I’ve ever done. I think Lockdown did that for me . To have something taken away from you and having no idea how or when you’re going to get it back made me love it even more! ( it’s the whole reason I started the DCT !)
I feel so bloody lucky that I am self employed and running two businesses with relative success. However, I have made the decision to not kill myself trying to juggle everything hence the sabbatical from the trailer. And in another twist I was asked if I wanted to hire the trailer out for the month of December. So from the first of dec the trailer will be down at offshore bar and restaurant for the bay of lights . Another reason why I haven’t gone back to the manor is because of this .
I will now be looking at hiring the trailer out for events etc etc . Not for me to work it, but for me to drop it off and pick it up ..( you know what I mean )
I will now be going back to the old manor in jan .
Will I lose customers ? Yes!
Will my loyal friends come back once opened ? I hope so .
It honestly feels like the right decision for me and my family at this moment .
I feel happier, less tired and have a bit more spring in my step now I’ve made this decision.
I have one event that I’m honouring which will be the 15th Nov at the hollyhocks Christmas fair .
I will be smashing out coffees and I will be doing my Xmas flat breads !!!
I have a feeling it’s gonna be mental !
Oh … and in another twist , I’ve invested into another business !😂
Something I’ve always wanted to have a go at . It’s a small golf competition site called low odds golf comps. Our first live draw will be this Wednesday evening at 8pm !!
Can’t wait ! ( go like and share the page !!)
I’m sorry for the long post but I have to try and get all this out !!
I want to thank each and everyone one of you for the amazing support over the these last 5 years! It’s honestly been a blast and I would be nothing without you all .
I’m always up for a coffee and catch up as well if anyone fancies it xx
