One Quarry. One Day. Hundreds of Stories.

Some places tell their story through the years.

Others tell it through the people who pass through them.

Today was one of those days.

For more than 170 years, this quarry has been part of Cornwall’s story. For a few hours, it came to life once again as the setting for Imerys Kaolinite, where swimmers, runners and families came together for far more than a competition. It became a place where determination brought a community together.

At Coffee & Cadence, we believe the best events aren’t experienced from the sidelines. They’re experienced by being part of them. Serving great coffee has never been the end goal; the real privilege is being there for the moments people will remember long after the day is over.

A heartfelt thank you to for creating such a unique experience, and to for opening a place with so much history so that new stories could be written. And thank you to every athlete, volunteer and visitor who stopped by the Landy. You were the ones who brought this day to life.

See you on the next journey.

𝐌𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐚 𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞. 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬

Some events are remembered for their scale.

Others stay with you because of what they represent.

Plymouth Pretty Muddy, organised by , was one of them.

Behind every participant was a story. Some were about hope. Others about strength. Others about love. And many were a quiet tribute to someone who continues to live on in a different way.

We feel incredibly grateful to have been part of such a meaningful day.

As we served each coffee, we also shared smiles, conversations and small moments of comfort with people who chose to walk, run or simply be there for a cause that reminds us of the extraordinary impact a community can have when it comes together for others.

Sometimes we think making a difference means doing something extraordinary.

But that day reminded us that simply being there is enough.

Thank you to Cancer Research UK and everyone who made Plymouth Pretty Muddy possible for allowing us to play a small part in so many incredible stories and in an event whose impact lasts long after the finish line.

Because the most meaningful journeys are never measured in miles.

They’re measured by the people we meet, the causes we stand behind, and the stories we’re privileged to share.

At Coffee & Cadence, we believe every event is a journey. Not just because of the course itself, but because of the people who make it possible, the stories that unfold along the way, and the memories that stay with us long after the finish line has been crossed.

We’re incredibly proud to have spent the day alongside hundreds of athletes, children, families, volunteers and spectators, doing what we love most: serving great coffee with the same care, dedication and passion that every participant brought to their own journey.

A heartfelt thank you to the entire INTOTRI team for trusting Coffee & Cadence and allowing us to be part of such a beautifully organised, inspiring and vibrant day.

Every morning, when we open the hatch of the Landy, there’s one question that stays with us:

How can we make today better than yesterday?

Sometimes the answer is obvious.

Other times, it’s found in the smallest details.

Today, we’re taking another step forward in that philosophy.

Our new uniform represents the identity we’ve been building throughout this journey.

And our new Mazzer, one of the most respected grinders in the world of speciality coffee, reflects our belief that a great coffee starts long before the first espresso. It starts with a precise, even and consistent grind.

At Coffee & Cadence, we believe that a great experience begins with the care we put into every detail.

The quality of the coffee.
The consistency of every extraction.

The way we welcome you.
A conversation.
A smile.
And the commitment to keep improving, even in the things you may never notice.

Every investment we make has one purpose:

To make sure that every time you come back, you notice the difference.

Not just in the coffee.

But in the whole experience.

Because great brands aren’t built overnight.

They’re built by improving one detail at a time.

Thank you for being part of this journey.

Every coffee we share with you brings us one step closer to the Coffee & Cadence we’ve imagined from the very beginning.

Today, The Landy parked somewhere a little different.

Between flowers, laughter and happy tears, we served coffee at a beautiful wedding.

There’s something special about watching guests gather around the coffee bar. Conversations begin. People slow down. Someone always asks for “just one more”.

That’s exactly why Coffee with Stopping For exists.

Not just to serve coffee.

To become part of moments worth remembering.

☕🤍

See you at the next stop.

I’d like to introduce a new coffee of ours- the Iced Maple Whip Americano 🍁🧊.

To make this coffee, I fill up a cup with chunky ice cubes and top it up with filtered water.

Then I add about 15g of maple syrup into a beautiful shot of fresh espresso, along with a splash of double cream.

Then I whizz all of it together using a small handheld electric whisk, which I must say is a genius and very affordable invention.

Give it a good whisk for a minute or so, to really fluff it up so it’s nice and light. This way it should sit nicely above the ice and water.

Pour it on top the water and ice, sprinkle a bit of chocolate or cinnamon and top, whatever one takes your fancy, and enjoy a refreshing and original coffee👌.

I’d say this one falls into the complex category, but in this weather, it really hits the spot as it hydrates and delivers a refreshing energy boost at the same time.

Here’s my road ahead for this next fortnight, which will be shorter than usual for me.

My plan pretty much goes off what the Cornwall weather Gods are up to.

Today (Weds 17/06). No play. My feet are up and my slippers are on, for part of the day anyway.

Tomorrow (Thursday 18/06). Weather looks ok so it’s on in Padstow! Dry and not too gusty so looks a good day to cycle the trail. I’ll be in my place at Dennis Cove + Camel Trail.

Friday (19/06). Hitting Padstow again, as usual, kicking off with my 8-9 power hour Dennis Cove Campsite, before I hop on over to the Camel Trail at the Padstow entrance, near the sailing club. Expected to be a bit more gusty today but nothing extreme and it looks dry.

Saturday - I have a local private hire event booked near Newquay, so there will be no Padstow action on Saturday I’m afraid.

On Saturday, the sun symbol has blessed us with its presence on the weather app, so that’s damn good news! It’s expected to get warmer again on Sunday and looks set to carry through into next week! It’s time to get your sun cream and sunnies to hand.☀️

Sunday - no Padstow action. It’s Father’s Day so I’m going to enjoy it with my old man.

Monday 22 - Friday 26th. Sadly there will be no Padstow action at all as I’m off for a few days, but I’ll be back serving up the brews on Saturday 27th and Sunday 28th.

I feel like this post started off as a weekly schedule then morphed into an amateur weather forecast. I hope it’s helpful in any case.

Peace and love.

I used to work with an Australian barista and that was how he said goodbye each day. To us Brits, the phrase feels a bit overdone but I quite like it nonetheless, so there.
