WE ARE BACK! Join us for lunch next weekend and stay to enjoy a special nature and poetry workshop.
FREE to attend - ticket link in comments below.
But what's it all about?
Two and a half years ago, the Oxford Poetry Library started running our *Lost Words immersive nature poetry workshops* inspired by Robert Macfarlane and Jackie Morris' beautiful *poetry anthology or "book of spells" of the same name*.
We have since had the pleasure of bringing these sessions to children and teenagers in community centres, schools, and at special events across Oxfordshire
But Macfarlane and Morris have made clear that their book was never meant to be just for children. The few workshops we have run with adults so far tell the same story: reconjuring the "lost" words that link us to the natural world is something that can bring joy and wonder to people of any age.
So, to our envious grown-up friends who've told us they wished they could join a session, now's your chance!!
🐦
Midsummer wildlife will be abundant and diverse in the hidden gem of Oxford city, Hogacre Common Eco Park. Using all of our senses, we will explore the site's orchard, wildflower meadow, woods and streams, develop and activate language to capture our personal experience of the wildlife we discover, then put pen to paper to create a Lost Words "spell" of our own.
The cafe will open at 12pm - serving delicious vegetarian meals with vegan and gluten-free options, and hot and cold drinks.
Payment by card is preferred but cash payments can also be taken.
We recommend arriving at least half an hour before the event starts to order and enjoy the delicious food on offer!
