We’re just a few minutes walk from the Isis (Oxford’s stretch of the Thames) and Port Meadow, a historic common stretching from Jericho to Wolvercote. In the summer, our garden is the envy of the whole city, and our 17th century plaster-rubble building with its traditional thatched roof will charm even the most seasoned pub-goers. Our food has a classic British farmhouse focus allowing seasonality
and quality of ingredients to lead our menus…home baked breads, pies, puddings & casseroles, river & sea fish, summer salads, potted meats & terrines, homemade chutneys, pickles & preserves, hedgerow desserts and a very fine Ploughman’s…You get the idea. We take good drinks just as seriously as we take good food. We work closely with breweries of all sizes to bring you a magnificent and ever-changing selection of ales, ciders, and perrys. We also offer an extensive list of quality English wines to complement our menus, as well as a full bevy of soft drinks and hot beverages. We’re proud to say we probably have the best selection of English wines in the county.
