🎉 Guess who's back?! 🎉

Turns out two weeks is a very long time when there's no pub involved! 😅 But the good news is... we're back and OPEN from today (Friday), and we can't wait to see you all!

If you've been wondering whether we'd vanished off to t’ seaside or joined a top secret retreat... don’t worry, we’re still right here! 🍻😉

Whether you're out for a countryside walk, a bike ride, or just fancy escaping the hustle and bustle, why not make the trip out? Fresh air, beautiful views, a proper pint and good company... sounds better than mowing the lawn, doesn't it? 😉

With just over a week to go until the Straw Race, there's plenty of excitement building! If the sunshine sticks around and the school holidays are nearly here, now's the perfect excuse to head into the countryside and make a day of it. ☀️🌾

So dust off your walking boots, fire up the car (or the bike), and come and remind us what our regulars look like—we've almost forgotten! 😂

By gum, it was hot out today.

Not quite hot enough to cook an egg on t'weather stone, but hot enough to dry it out. Tried it for science.

More heat tomorrow. Further experiments are planned.

📢 Important Update

Due to unforeseen circumstances, we will be closed this weekend and therefore won't be open for Father's Day.

We have contacted most customers with existing bookings. If you have a reservation and have not yet heard from us, please get in touch.

We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.

We will reopen and return to normal service on Friday 26th June.

🔥 BBQ 0.1 IS LIVE 🔥

The first version of the new outdoor BBQ setup at The Waggon & Horses is officially ready for testing. 🍖🍔🌭

Join/support us on the journey — burgers and sausages are on in V0.1, with just over a month to go until Oxenhope Straw Race.

This is still very much a work in progress: a rough first build using reclaimed Yorkshire stone and whatever materials we could get our hands on. The aim is to gradually evolve it into a proper rustic country-style outdoor cooking area featuring:

Built-in BBQ
Spit roasting
Pizza oven
Landscaping
More seating & prep areas
Plenty more Yorkshire stonework

Already learned a lot from Version 0.1, and there’ll definitely be a rebuild or two as the project develops 😂

Main thing now:
👉 We’re going to need A LOT more Yorkshire stone to finish the vision properly.

Construction criticism is welcome — especially if it comes with sweat work, spare stone, or BBQ skills. 🪨🍻🔥
