💖 that’s all folks 💖
sorry, I’ve been meaning to make this post for two weeks, but honestly I desperately needed to log off for a while.
we are now completely closed. thank you so so much to everyone who visited in our last week - it was without a doubt the busiest week we’ve ever had, and I think I speak for the whole team when I say we’ve never felt so appreciated than in those final weeks of trading. I honestly never felt we were important to anyone, barring a few very loving and kind regular customers, so to say we’ve been overwhelmed is an understatement.
thank you also to our wonderful suppliers who’ve kept us in stock of so much good stuff over the years: for our bread, for our coffee, for our fruit, veggies and free range eggs, for our delicious teas, for our jams and chutneys, for our peanut butter, for excellent vegan supplies, Dodgeshons just around the corner for so many baking bits, boards, boxes and good chats, and many, many more that I’m sure I’ve forgotten.
please remember we are closed and will not be accepting orders at all. if this changes, it will be posted on this page and this page alone. please don’t find my personal Instagram and ask for a cake - it’s crossing a boundary and is honestly a bit rude.
whilst closing Sift has been predominantly a personal choice - the workload is honestly overwhelming for me and I simply can’t cope any more - the current financial strains on all small businesses is so real. please support your local independents - leave them a nice review on Google or Tripadvisor - tell your friends - try make a small occasional purchase if and when you can. the squeeze is real for all of us, but if you truly love your independents we all need to make a small effort to help them.
I don’t really know what else to say. thank you all for 5 brilliant years. it really has been a dream come true, but I have more dreams to fulfil.
