Buttercups Otley is owned and run by 4 mums, where we want to welcome all families and that really is at the heart of everything we do. We know that taking the kids out isn’t always about entertaining them. Sometimes YOU need somewhere to go too.

Somewhere you can actually sit down. Somewhere you can finish a hot coffee. Somewhere you can have a conversation with a friend. Somewhere you don’t have to spend the whole time chasing after your children.

That’s why Buttercups tends to feel a little different. Our play space is completely enclosed, so your children can play, explore and make friends independently, while you can relax knowing they’re safe and close by. From our café area, you can see across the whole centre, giving you that extra bit of reassurance that every parent appreciates.

And we don’t believe in rushing you out. There are no timed play sessions, so if you arrive at 9:30am and the kids are still happily playing at lunchtime, you can stay. Grab breakfast, order lunch, have a snack, enjoy another coffee… whatever works for you. And we’ll bring it all to your table.Because we know sometimes the last thing you need is to juggle entertaining children and thinking about drinks and food for them, We’ll cook it, bring it over, clear it away and do the washing up. You can just enjoy being here.

Need to work? We’ve got WiFi.
Meeting a friend? Stay and chat.
Need to get out of the house? Come and see us.
Got a child who needs to burn off some energy? Let them loose. 😂

But perhaps the biggest reason to choose Buttercups is simply us. 💁🏻‍♀️🤣 We’re a small, independent business run by mums who genuinely care about creating somewhere families want to come back to. We notice the little things. We listen to our customers. We want you to feel welcomed, not rushed, and like you’ve found your place. Every family who walks through our doors helps keep a little independent business going and honestly, that means more to us than you probably realise.

We’re Buttercups made up of 4 local, Otley mums who have recently taken over buttercups.

We’ve been listening to your feedback, and we’re so excited for a special delivery arriving hopefully tomorrow, In and ready for use by Wednesday.. (there’s EVRI chance this may be delayed 😉🤣 but for now we hope!!) We’ve added some lovely new bits with our smallest Buttercups in mind, giving them even more to explore, play with and enjoy.

If you’ve not visited us yet, why not come and give Buttercups a try? Come to play, grab a coffee, meet some friends and see what we’re all about. There’s so much more to come, and we’d genuinely love to see more of our local families through our doors. Thank you for supporting us as we begin this new chapter.

💕 A little bit of honesty from us…

We were just going to post that we’re closing early today without saying too much, but as a small, independent business, we felt being completely transparent with you was the right thing to do.

It’s been a really quiet couple of weeks, and after having just two lovely families visit us today, we’ve made the difficult decision to close at 12pm so we can keep an eye on those all-important overheads.

We know September is a busy time and everyone is finding their new routines, so we completely understand. 🥰

But when you choose Buttercups, you’re not choosing a big chain you’re supporting four local mums, a little independent business and a place that genuinely cares about the families who walk through our door. 💕

Every visit, coffee, party and play session really does make a difference to us.

So if you’re looking for somewhere local, friendly, safe and full of heart, we’d love for you to come and see us. 🌈💜
