🍟 JOB VACANCY – FISH FRYER 🐟

We’re looking for a hardworking and reliable person to join our chippy team!

This is a physically demanding job and involves heavy lifting and manual work. You will be on your feet for long periods and need to be comfortable with the physical side of working in a busy chippy.

The role will include:
• Frying fish and other food
• Preparing potatoes
• Carrying and moving heavy stock
• Regular heavy lifting
• Keeping the shop and work areas clean
• Working as part of a busy team

⚠️ Please be aware this is a hard, physical job involving heavy lifting, so applicants must be physically capable of carrying out the duties safely.

Previous experience as a fish fryer is preferred, but training can be provided to the right person.

❤️ A VERY SPECIAL POEM FOR LEVERS ❤️

We were so touched to receive this beautiful poem about Levers, written by Thekla George’s daughter. 🥹❤️

After everything we’ve been through moving from the old market to our brand-new home, these words really mean so much to us.

A little bit of Levers history, a lot of love, and a reminder of why we do what we do. 🐟🍟❤️

There was a great chippy in Oldham
And Levers was its name.
It had been part of the market for decades,
Without it, town wouldn’t be the same.

The owners were George and Sav from Cyprus,
Fish and chips was there game.
Freshly battered cod and all the works.
That’s how they rose to fame.

The time did come when the old market would close,
Everyone agreed it was a shame.
But George and Sav would not give up,
Their hard work would not be in vain.

They found a spot just perfect,
Right opposite Home Bar-gain!!!
They painted it red, to stand good stead
And there the famous Levers would remain!

So if you’re feeling hungry
And your belly is crying out in pain,
Head down to see George and Sav at Levers.
You’ll be very glad you came! ❤️🍟🐟

A HUGE thank you to everyone who supported us today at our brand-new shop! ❤️🐟🍟

We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better first day. We did have a few little issues along the way, but thankfully they were sorted quickly, and we really appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding while we got everything running smoothly.

We hope you all enjoyed your food and loved our new shop as much as we do! 🥰

We’ve also had lots of messages regarding the job vacancy. We promise we will get back to everyone tomorrow — after such a busy day, we’re absolutely shattered! 😂❤️
