☀️ Keeping Cool at Bearslake Inn ☀️
With temperatures set to soar over the next few days and weather warnings in place, we'll be open as usual, but we will be making a few small adjustments to help keep both our guests and team comfortable and safe.
Our beautiful 13th century Dartmoor inn, with its thick granite walls and thatched roof, naturally stays wonderfully cool in many areas.
To help everyone stay comfortable, we will be taking a few extra precautions:
• Our team will be dressing appropriately for the weather, with a little more flexibility around our usual uniform standards.
• Chef Tom and the kitchen team may make some small changes to the menu, focusing on lighter dishes and reducing heat in the kitchen.
• There may be some slight adjustments to food service hours over the next few days to allow our kitchen team additional breaks during the hottest parts of the day. Any changes will be communicated in advance where possible.
• Our fully air conditioned restaurant provides a welcome escape from the heat, whilst windows and doors in other areas of the inn will be opened wherever possible to encourage airflow.
• Complimentary chilled tap water will be readily available, and we will be very happy to provide extra refills throughout your visit.
Our amazing team will be working incredibly hard during the hot weather. From our kitchen and housekeeping teams behind the scenes to our front of house staff serving you, the heat can make for particularly challenging working conditions. We kindly ask for a little patience if things take slightly longer than usual, as the wellbeing of our team will always remain our priority.
As many of you know, we are extremely dog friendly, and dogs are very welcome. However, we would ask owners to think carefully about their four-legged friends during periods of extreme heat. Our large garden, complete with its stream and shady spots, offers plenty of opportunities to cool off, and fresh water bowls are available throughout the pub and garden. 🐾
Most importantly, please take care of yourselves, stay hydrated and enjoy the sunshine responsibly.
