Live Music Night this Friday - will you be joining us?

Our next traditional music evening is Friday (2nd October) - we host these on the 1st and 3rd Friday of every month, with the help of talented local entertainers.

Music starts at 9.30pm, so why not book a table for dinner beforehand?

Please note: Our performers are all local volunteers and so our music nights are always subject to their availability.

A special event coming up at Kilmartin Museum on 10th October - just a quick 20-min drive from the hotel.

A special event coming up at Kilmartin Museum on 10th October - just a quick 20-min drive from the hotel.

Come and celebrate the launch of the new In the Footsteps of Kings with us on 10 October. 📚

The 2026 Revised Edition by Dr Sharon Webb brings together 25 walks through Kilmartin and the surrounding landscape, exploring the archaeology, history and natural heritage of Mid Argyll.

For the launch, you’ll have the chance to meet Sharon, join a guided walk and have your copy of the new edition signed by the author.

Sharon has been Director and Curator of Kilmartin Museum for more than 20 years, so it’s also a chance to hear directly from the person behind the book and discover more about the landscape it explores.

📅 10 October: 11.00am–12.30pm

Who needs TripAdvisor when you've got stones? ❤ Peter was able to capture a photo to go alongside this great story ...

We recently hosted American guests who spent a night with us as part of a week-long trip around Scotland. Somewhere along the way, while travelling through the Cairngorms, they found this stone shaped like the number one.

When they checked out of Loch Melfort, they gave it to our team and told us that, of all the hotels they’d stayed in during their trip, we were their number one. Needless to say, we were delighted.

Anyone who's been following us for a while will know we love to start the day with a morning walk with our two hotel dogs, Harris and Rocket.

We've had some particularly sunny strolls this week, and so Calum has been collecting beach shots 📸 He even managed to sneak a quick close up of our resident heron before they flew off.

There are plenty of articles online telling you why you should visit Scotland's West Coast. So, this month, we wanted to do something a little different.

No generic lists. No AI bot telling you what life in Argyll is supposed to be like. Just Calum and Rachel sharing what it's actually been like to call this part of Scotland home for the past 18 years.

The morning dog walks and fiery sunsets. The otters, herons and owls. Fresh langoustines on the barbecue. Fiddle sessions, rugby, piping, wild weather and family traditions that have developed along the way.

Would you? It can sometimes get a bit chilly now that autumn is here, but a lot of people don't realise that this part of the west coast of Scotland (just south of Oban) is highly influenced by the warming effects of the North Atlantic Drift ... commonly referred to as the Gulf Stream.

Some of our guests head out for their first ever wild swim with local swim coach,
