The Wheatsheaf Traditional English pub, which prides itself on fine real ales and quality home cooked food. The Wheatsheaf is a traditional pub located in the heart of Oakham.

In winter there are log fires and for the summer there is our Award winning garden to enjoy. The Wheatsheaf has a range of real ales with a guest ale and a guest cider that change regularly to introduce new real ales to our customers. There is a restaurant area for lunches and dinner - although it is also possible to eat in the bar area and garden. The menu is updated regularly with seasonal dishe

s with a 'Specials' board that is changed weekly. Our meat is supplied from a local butchers and our fruit and vegetables come from the local greengrocers - we try and source as much as possible from local suppliers. Reservations can be made and are advisable especially in the evenings and for the popular Sunday Lunches. The Wheatsheaf is not only located in the heart of Oakham but is also part of the heart of the local community. We have a range of different events that take place through out the year - monthly charity quiz, pub cricket, 5 a side football, petanque, live music nights - are just a few examples. Every one is welcome so please ask at the bar on how to join in! We also televise a number of special sporting events - for example the World Cup (football and rugby), Cheltenham Festival, the 6 Nations - details of any upcoming events are listed in the events section of our page and regularly updated.

Sarahs mum, Barbara has fought lung cancer 5 times!!
Sarah is trying to raise money for The Roy Castle Lung Foundation by running her first half marathon in September- The Great North Run!!!

Have been waiting for the hollyhocks to turn to seed so we can share the seeds!
We have been asked by lots of our lovely paying guests if they can have the seeds when ready!!
Please pop in and take some home with you for free to grow and enjoy for yourselves!!

Yesterday afternoon we were invited to attend the Everards Spencer Memorial Garden competition awards presentation.
We were very humbled and surprised to have won , not only Gold Gilt award but also best in show!!! Bloody fantastic!!!🥳🥳🥳🍀🌻🌺💐 13 years consecutively winning this award for our beautiful garden is a great achievement!! Not bad considering out of the whole Everards estate, only 19 pubs received a Gold Gilt and only 5 pubs recieved best in show!!
Congratulations to The Final Whistle, Southwell who won overall!! 🏆
BIG BIG thank you to Mum and Dad( John and Teresa Cook ) for caring for the garden whilst we go on holiday for the week!! Without you, it would die OR we just wouldn't go on holiday!!!🥰🙃
