โ ๏ธ IMPORTANT โ ROAD CLOSURE TONIGHT, TOMORROW NIGHT AND WEDNESDAY NIGHT โ ๏ธ
For anyone visiting The Horseshoe Inn tonight, tomorrow night or Wednesday night, please be aware that there will be a road closure from 8pm each night until the following morning.
Unfortunately, the information provided by the council has been poor, and we have not been given clear details about how the closure will operate. We have also had no meaningful discussion with the council about when this work would be least disruptive for us, or how the impact on our business and the losses we may incur could be mitigated. We feel that the council has not assisted us adequately in preparing for this closure. (We received a notice less than a week ago)!
At the moment, we are still not completely sure how the closure will operate. However, we have been advised that:
๐ถ Pedestrian access over the bridge WILL remain available.
๐ There will be NO VEHICLE ACCESS from 8pm until the following morning on each of these nights.
Because of this, please DO NOT park or attempt to park in The Horseshoe car park tonight, tomorrow night or Wednesday night.
โ ๏ธ If your vehicle is already in our car park before 8pm, please move it and find alternative parking. Otherwise, you may not be able to get your vehicle out until the following morning.
The closest parking is available on Station Road, on the other side of the train lines. This is still classed as Station Road, and you can walk to the pub via the pedestrian bridge. To access this parking, travel via Highbury Vale and take the turning directly opposite Cantrell Road.
There are also multiple car parks less than a 5-minute walk from the pub, so there are plenty of alternatives nearby.
๐ The bus station is operating as normal
๐ The tram stop is operating as normal
๐ Taxis can be picked up from the bus station
PLEASE NOTE: If youโre thinking of using the B&M car park, be careful as there is a time limit and ANPR cameras are in operation.
Please allow yourself a little extra time getting to us tonight, tomorrow night and Wednesday night, and share this with anyone who may be coming down.
We apologise for the inconvenience, but we are doing our best to manage the situation despite the lack of clear information and support from the council. We appreciate your understanding and continued support, particularly as this closure may have a significant impact on our business.
