The Lincolnshire Poacher has been part of Nottingham’s real ale drinking scene for so long that it’s easy to forget that it only opened in the late 1980′s, rising from the shell of the Old Grey Nags Head which had been closed by Shipstones. In partnership with Wainfleet brewers, George Bateman & Sons Ltd, the ‘Poacher’ quickly earned a reputation as one of THE places in Nottingham for quality and choice of ale, a distinction it has never lost. Alongside its excellent reputation for ale, the Lincolnshire Poacher is also part of a small group of Castle Rock pubs aiming to provide you with a dynamic and enlightening world beer experience, as part of our “Discover World Beers” initiative. The large public bar is complemented by a large outside high walled beer garden.

Get ready all you Quiz Quiztoffersons, Agatha Quizties and Lethal Quizzles! The World Famous Poacher Pub Quiz is back!

We’re going back to school with questions from all your favourite (or not) subjects.

There will be a tasting round as well as the usual variety of devilish questions, music intros and picture puzzles to get to grips with.

The quiz kicks off at 8:00 although arriving early to bag a table is advised!

£1 per person with all money going to the British Heart Foundation.

The Terrible Parents — an acoustic folk duo with a bit of folk rock grit, hailing from Southwell. Gord: guitarist, singer, and the one responsible for turning the chaos in his head into songs about life, love, family, and whatever random nonsense refuses to leave him alone at 2am. Then there’s Sarah — classically trained, wildly talented, and frankly the reason any of this sounds remotely good. The Terrible Parents are too busy bringing up kids and dragging them around festivals and other gigs to worry about recording, but they are ace so come and see them at the Lincolnshire Poacher!
