The earliest recorded evidence of the Salutation being used as an Inn is in 1675 in the Nottingham Sessions Roll of the Inns of the county.

At this time there were two licensed houses in Keyworth, the 'Hammer and Pincers' at the North, or Church end of the village, and the 'Salutation' at the South end. In 1800's the 'Hammer and Pincers' gained an evil reputation for cock fighting, man-fighting and disturbances of the peace and the Inn disappeared from public records. This means that the Salutation, or at least parts of it, is the old

est Inn still in existence today. These days the Salutation is a friendly, family run pub serving fine food and real ales. Food serving times are:
Monday - Saturday 12- 9pm
Sunday - 12pm - 5pm

Booking is advisable for dining Monday - Sunday

We have a childrens' license until 9:00 pm with conditions that can be viewed on entry.

This week at The Salutation:

Huge Friday Night with the return of Missing Cat at 20:00. For anyone who missed out last time you’ll want to make sure you’re here this time.

Saturday Night also sees the return of Lowri and Wilf from 18:30

England Knockout action on Wednesday at a very reasonable 17:00 vs DR Congo.

England Rugby in Action vs South Africa in the Rugby Nations Championship at 16:40 with rugby on all day!

Quiz Night Sunday 19:00 and the possibility of a Late Night Viewing if England make it through Wednesdays game

With temperatures much more manageable today live music will go ahead but an hour later at 19:30 to give more people the chance to get down.

England vs Panama will be shown kick-off at 22:00

Unfortunately due to issues of safety in this heat, the entertainment tonight has had to be cancelled, apologies to all those who had hoped to come down but in 35° heat I’m not equipped to put in place the necessary measures to ensure people’s safety. The pub will, whilst I’d love the evening off, still be open. Please bring water bottles and hats if you’re planning on sitting in the garden and refrain from bringing dogs unless you have the necessary gear to keep them cool.

Some curtains will remain drawn to keep temperatures as low as possible but I am open

The cooler on the ale lines has been fixed and our ales are now back to being served at 8°C

This Weekend at The Salutation

More live music for you both Friday and Saturday, with a little taste of Missing Cat ahead of their full performance next Friday and returning Lowri-Ffion vocalist on Saturday night 19:00 and 18:30 respectively

England vs Panama will kick off at 22:00 Saturday so make sure to get in and secure good seats.

The Pub quiz will be on Sunday from 19:00 to round out what should be a lovely weekend with cracking weather.
