It’s a thriving, bustling restaurant on two floors, with a ground floor dining area for up to 40 customers, and a large basement room which boasts a surprisingly tall ceiling, and seats up to 44 diners. Our dishes are typical of a French bistro; simple, classic recipes, all home-made from fresh ingredients. Our meals make the French feel at home, and the British remember their holidays. Authenticity, combined with a desire to share the French culture and pass on our knowledge, makes us unique, and ensures our loyal, discerning customers keep coming back for more. Our cafe-creperie menu is served from 10.30am (9.30am on Sats) offering delicious morning coffee, breakfast French pastries, as well as baguettes, assiettes, galettes and crepes. What a wonderful way to celebrate Bastille Day! 🇫🇷❤️

A heartfelt merci to everyone who joined us yesterday and made the evening so special.

Seeing our cellar filled with people gathered around the table, sharing food, laughter and conversation was exactly what Bastille Day is all about. The atmosphere was simply fantastic, and it was a real pleasure to watch everyone enjoying themselves and embracing the spirit of a true French celebration. A huge thank you to Seb for creating such a wonderful atmosphere with his live music!

Thank you all for celebrating with us and for your continued support. We can’t wait to welcome you back for many more evenings like this.

A truly special afternoon! ✨🇫🇷❤️

On Sunday, we were delighted to participate in a special edition of the Secret Tart Club at Blotts Country Club Venue in Holme Pierrepont, and what a beautiful event it was!

A huge congratulations to Sabrina for creating such a stunning experience. Every detail had been so thoughtfully considered, and the atmosphere was simply magical. If you've spotted the beautiful tarts in our photos and videos, all credit goes to lily_rose_tarts (https://www.lilyrosetarts.com) whose creations were as delicious as they were beautiful.

For us, it was a wonderful first experience serving canapés at an event like this, and we had so much fun welcoming guests and meeting so many lovely people throughout the afternoon.

Merci beaucoup to Sabrina for inviting us to be part of such a special event, and to everyone who came along and supported it. It was an honour to be part of such an inspiring community, and we hope to see you all again very soon 🇫🇷❤️

Celebrate Bastille Day with us at French Living 🇫🇷

On Tuesday 14th July, we’re bringing the French national day to Nottingham as we celebrate Bastille Day!

Join us downstairs in our cellar for an evening inspired by the relaxed summer gatherings found across France where good food, live music and great company come together around shared tables.

Our Chef’s grillades with French fries, accompanied by live French songs and gypsy jazz from Seb, promise a convivial evening full of laughter, music and celebration.

Enjoy a special three-course menu for £45 per person, beginning with a refreshing taboulé, followed by our French-style grillades with our iconic fries, before finishing with a classic chocolate mousse, all served in the welcoming spirit of a traditional French celebration.

Chosen by Audrius himself, this week’s suggestion is a true French classic.

Our Boudin Noir is served with a rich mustard sauce, caramelised onions, roasted apples and creamy mashed potatoes, a comforting dish that perfectly balances sweet and savoury flavours.

And to finish, don’t miss our Tarte Bourdaloue, a classic pear and almond tart served with a passion fruit coulis. It’s Dédé’s favourite, and after one bite, we think it might become yours too!

We were thrilled to attend the Muddy Stilettos Winners’ Event yesterday alongside so many fantastic winners from across the region! ✨

Winning Best Casual Dining 2026 was an incredible honour, and it was a real pleasure meeting so many inspiring local businesses. We especially enjoyed meeting Leonardo and Ella from Delilah Fine Foods with whom we had some wonderful conversations about exciting projects and the importance of bringing communities together in Nottingham. It was truly inspiring to meet people who are so passionate about what they do and who place community at the heart of everything they create.

A huge thank you to Muddy Stilettos | Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire for organising such a wonderful event, and a special thank you to Cathy for making everyone feel so welcome and bringing us all together.

We’d also like to thank everyone who has been part of French Living over the years, especially Stéphane and our wonderful regulars, many of whom have supported us since we first opened our doors more than three decades ago. Your loyalty, encouragement and friendship have helped make French Living what it is today.
