I am absolutely gob smacked and appalled by today... This afternoon a group of people came in and were continuously rude to me whilst serving them. One left and fetched their own food and brought it in to eat. We told them they couldn't eat food (chicken!) from elsewhere in our establishment. Instead of accepting this, they argued with us for several minutes before leaving. We have since been review bombed multiple times and we are distressed at the behaviour and tone of some of the comments made.

We have reported these reviews to Google but in the meantime we would love for anyone and everyone to leave us some more accurate reviews to show these bullies that we are a wonderful inclusive and welcoming place.

Rude people can get in the bin, though...

Well, we worked through the night clearing up and finishing what we could ready to open at 8.30am and we did it! We managed around 80% of our planned refurb so the rest will have to come in stages.

However, we wanted to thank every person that has been in touch this week. Stopping by to check we are ok in the heat, offering to get cold drinks and food, messaging with words of encouragement. You really helped us make it through when we honestly thought we'd never reach a finish line.

Thank you to everyone's overwhelmingly positive feedback today on the new look space. Super happy you have all connected with what we tried to achieve.

One last thanks to Christina and Johnny for the lovely card and flowers this morning (pictured). Very sweet gesture.

We have some of the most amazing customers and we treasure you all dearly. 🧡

We look forward to seeing more of you in the coming weeks.

We're really sorry everyone, we just aren't going to be ready to open Thursday lunch as hoped. Opening fresh for the day on Friday morning at 8.30am.

We want to make sure everything is done correctly and not have to repair or fix something later. You can't ruch perfection

Heads up folks! We will be closed from Thursday 18th to Tuesday 23rd June for essential repairs and a big refresh.

Back open on Wednesday 24th officially as FIKA.

The rebrand has started today.. small things first and more as the month goes on..

Happy Bank Holiday to you all! Hope you're enjoying the sunshine.

There's just 1 week left to finish off your reward cards and spend your gift cards with us. From 1st June we will slowly begin transitioning to our new name FIKA.

If you've never heard the word before, I'll explain... FIKA is a Swedish word which has no direct English translation but basically means 'to take a break, have a coffee and something sweet' and that really resonates with the atmosphere we're trying to create. A place to pause your day, have a coffee, some cake and catch up with friends.

You'll see small changes as the month progresses and once Sherwood Art Week and Open Gardens have passed, we will finish the full change over to the new name. This means we will be closed for a few days but will let you all know more details on that soon.

We want to thank everybody that has supported and continues to support us and we hope you love our new name and continue with us into our next evolution. We have lots planned.
