Of course we have some great coffee and amazing bakes but we're also about catching up with friends and making new ones as you enjoy some tastes from South Africa from our menu. In fact, we have a number of menus: An English menu (with things like our all-day full English breakfast, toasties and salads), a South African menu (which includes some much loved traditional dishes like bunny chow, wo

rs rolls and a South African breakfast. Our drinks menu will treat you with any thing from a coffee to a rooibos tea, from a coke float to a delux milkshake. Our Cakes & Bakes menu will have you trying to decide between ordering a whole cake, a batch of cupcakes, a full loaf or whole tarts. Lastly we also have a number of shelves stocking some items from South African and Zimbabwe. See all our menus here: https://www.facebook.com/TheIndabaHut/menu

During the lockdowns we gave our downstairs a little refresh to help welcome you back. We hope you enjoy the newly painted area and love the animal painted kitchen doors and our Ndebele* inspired painted back wall.

🕰 Opening Hours: 🕰
Tuesdays to Saturdays 9am to 5pm. We have both outdoor seating and indoor seating (downstairs and upstairs).

📞 We strongly suggest you reserve a table by calling or emailing in - especially on Fridays and Saturdays as seats are limited to follow social distancing. 📞 Tel: 0115 998 8050

We are still trying to keep all our visitors safe by having fewer tables, minimal touch points (therefore we do not have any games out and the play room is closed). We have hand sanitisers and gloves all around the shop, we're cleaning up more and wearing our masks.

Indaba is a Zulu word meaning a discussion or meeting

The Indaba Hut is about getting together and making new friends.

Besides hot drinks and homebaked cakes, we serve all day breakfasts, sandwiches and light meals. We’re growing our South African menu with favourites like wors and bobotie. If you don’t have the time to sit and enjoy your meal, we offer a takeaway option.

Visit our corner shelf for some South African treats like Ghost Pops, Ouma Rusks and ProNutro.

We are family friendly and have highchairs and changing tables available. Upstairs has a child-friendly corner with a toy kitchen, toys and books. Speak to us about holding parties, social gatherings, meetings or childrens’ activities in our rooms.
